I wish they would stop messing with the time. I blame Ant/and /or Dec.

And I am going out, out , because it's my wedding anniversary.

But we are going out at 6, and are rubbish at this going out lark, so we will probably be home before the programme even startsGrin

Here are the song choices-

Team Tom
Lucy Milburn: Ariana Grande - One Last Time
Ruti: Boy Meets Girl - Waiting For A Star To Fall

Team Olly
Lauren Bannon: Phil Collins - In The Air Tonight
Jamie Grey: Justin Timberlake & Chris Stapleton - Say Something

Team Will
Tai: Prince - When Doves Cry
Donel Magena: Pharell Williams - Happy

Team Jennifer
Belle Voci: Adele - Skyfall (Classical Crossover)
Gayatri Nair: Sia - Alive

Singing 'One last time' is a bit of an omen, don't you think, on the semi final? ...

And I am possibly very glad I can fast forward through 'Skyfowwwwwl, crumbowwwwwl' the classical version.

Prince covers should be banned on these shows.

I have a couple of chocolate eggs.

Why don't we have an egg emoticon? Easter Grin

I might be back.

Grin

You will be pleased to hear, my potatoes were finally peeled Grin hurrah!

Although I did get side tracked when I spotted the 'Wizard of Oz' on the tv...

My heart isn't in this dinner. I'm doing it out of a feeling I should. And it's only the family, so just the usual Sunday lunch really. With added extras. I think the dc would rather just eat the chocolate eggs Grin

The finalists are- Ruti, Donel, Belle Voci, and Lauren.

Though to be honest, I was only half paying attention myself- and noticed the ones I didn't want to be there, rather than the ones I did! Grin

There are 4? Ah, OK!

Too much unexplained formula on The Voice!

To be fair to the X Factor, it explains what is happening every three minutes, or so... loudly.

Raahh · 01/04/2018 13:27

Piggy they one per judge- , which when you think about it, makes it fixed, as it shouldn't really happen like that. It is more plausible, as happens on X Factor, that by now, mentors might have lost all their acts. And by the final , only 2 judges might have acts represented- not all four of them . Which is too neat. Since it was a public vote, I imagine that the final four result is different to the one we have, which conveniently leaves them all with one act each.

Unless it's being fixed so they all have an act left each, and that is the genuine final 4 from the public vote- but I'm not convinced Grin.

If any of that makes sense? Grin

My Easter dinner is going to be mac & cheese. It's just DD and I, anything else would be a waste of time and money. Instead I am spending today catching up on sewing.

Potato Update

I am usually quite happy with frozen spuds on a Sunday,(very wrong to admit on Mn, but I don't care Grin) but my proper roast potatoes were a triumph today. Even if ds went out and had lunch with his mates, dh is still too ill to really eat much ,and the girls don't appreciate Sunday roast anyway Grin.

I will have to decide what vegetable I will focus on, for the Voice final Grin.

I have been watching the Mel and Sue Generation game .

I am mightily glad I have been back on the alcohol this weekend. Grin

But hey, Basil Brush is on it. And plate spinning. It's like the 70's never went away Grin.

Much as I love you all, you can count me out of any generation game threads! I can not watch that Mel woman for more than 3 minutes without becoming a danger to myself & others. Sue is fine but Mel..,

Raahh · 01/04/2018 21:06
Grin

I promise not to start any Generation game thread.

Johnny Vegas making teapots was funny, but i've seen him do that before (i love the Pottery throwdown programme).

And it had Basil Brush! and rude sausage making! and plate spinning! featuring a man with a pony tail! Grin

(It also had Lorraine Fucking Kelly as a 'judge' who looked miserable as sin for most of it- who booked her ??)

I secretly enjoyed it. It even had a canteen of cutlery and the sketch show. And Martin Kemp. And willy jokes. What's not to love?

Roussette · 02/04/2018 10:12

Glad you had a good night out Raahh, you certainly didn't miss anything!
I love pottery throwdown too, and last night was a weekly painting challenge thing on BBC1, unfortunately I missed half of it and can't be arsed to catch up.

However I draw the line at Gen Game (can't bear watching LK but am in love with Basil Brush Grin)

I shan't be around for the Final, but shall watch it next day whilst nursing the inevitable after party hangover.

Raahh · 02/04/2018 10:30

Piggy it did have a canteen of cutleryGrin

I'm glad they didn't update it, and make it all 2018- though I can't really think what they would do for games if they did.

Rousette the painting thing was ok, I like watching that. I can't draw at all. I can't do anything practical, come to think of it.

I miss 'Sewing Bee'. I loved Sewing Bee.

OP posts:
Roussette · 02/04/2018 10:50

Sewing Bee, oh yes! Sigh...

My fave prog of the arty farty stuff. I have a friend who should be on it, she is so talented, she's always sewn. I wonder why it's been scrapped, I thought it was quite popular. I do not have an artistic or creative bone in my body which is why I love these programmes!

Raahh · 02/04/2018 11:10

I'm useless- my mother is ashamed Grin She can make anything, from covering sofas to curtains. Gets it from my gran, but it was her job. My gran still knits- I can't knit- I tried several times, but my mum and gran are both left handed and knit in their own unique way. I'm a leftie too, so it made it difficult for them to teach me. I gave up Grin. I can sew basic stuff, but I can't thread a sewing machine.

I used to do embroidery, I'm not bad at that, but you need decent eyesight for that- and I'm blind as bat Grin

OP posts:
Roussette · 02/04/2018 13:19

How strange, same as me! I can embroider but that's about it... when my two DDs were babies I did two really detailed big cross stitch pictures with their initials, and only copying, so no pattern on the fabric. Too much eye strain now.
My DM could do absolutely everything... floristry, sew clothes, knit, smocking, crochet, soft furnishings, upholstery.... I'm useless!
