Anyone else disappointed with tonight’s Corrie?

All the hype for months about Phelan being caught with the murders and he falls into the bloody water, as I predicted he would! How disappointing! I predict that his ‘body’ will never be found and we will either never see him again or we’ll see him getting to some shoreline only to be getting on a boat to go elsewhere, and Aileens reaction to his murders, to Liz back at the cottage, was very unrealistic, I’m thoroughly disappointed, it was lazy writing imho.

Wtf is happening to our shitty soaps lately?! Emmerdale is as cheesy as hell, and boring, Eastenders has been crap for years and now this! I don’t watch the cheesy Australian soaps.

Toyah and Peter are not well suited though and she used to have a good job didn’t she?! Why would she give up her career to run a pub with an ex alcoholic.
Toyah would be more suited to Ken’s grandson if he were older, and peter back with Leanne or carla

Or Toyah and the nurse’s brother the solicitor (no good with names!) they’d make a good couple.
Either way the Rovers needs Steve and Liz back properly

Peter has turned out boring but maybe the producers are giving him a break as I have read a few interviews where Chris Gascoigne, the actor who plays Peter, has said that he’s left because of all the dreary storylines as it takes their toll on him IRL, as Peter is always so miserable, it must be quite difficult to get into that frame of mind and then get out again to go home and live your normal life as yourself. I much prefer Peter when he’s sneaking about and having affairs, I’ll never forget how exciting the storyline with Shelley & the florist (Simons mum) were, that’s the Peter I know and love! I doubt it will be long before he’s up to his old tricks again Hmm

@Wishful see I’m right! I know it’s a strange way to think but hey ho that’s the brain for you, well my brain anyway! Grin

Your also right about Toyah with Rana’s brother, Imran is it? Yeah they are better suited, Toyah is too boring for Peter, as is Leanne, he & Carla are meant to be iyam Wink

I seen a trailer for tonight’s Corrie on Twitter and I actually got goosebumps, I won’t say what at but the 2 minute clip was better than the 2 episodes on Friday, put together!!

I thought it was a terrible denouement to a very protracted storyline. Badly written and an anticlimax. Toyah and Peter are not convincing as a couple are they? Not a good fit for The Rovers.

This is going to sound so stupid but I feel Toyah and Peter being in charge of the pub are an insult to the bar owners that have gone before.

YOYR Toyah & Peter running the pub is an insult to Steve & Liz, who imo were made for running a pub, especially Liz, she’s the stereotypical landlady but she does it well as she’s such a people person, Peter usually is too but I think boring Toyah has robbed his personality! I just do not like Toyah in the slightest, and I don’t like the way she’s manipulating Eva into giving her her baby, it’s so obvious how that one’s going to end

That was the reaction to Phelan getting to Ireland with no passport, money and obviously bad injuries.
Will he come forward when Eileen gets charged with his murder?

I agree that Toyah and Peter are an insult to the Rovers. The landladies have always been really strong. Toyah is so insipid. Baby stealing inclinations aside.

Also,how has Craig's OCD suddenly changed? He was unplugging things, now he's swapping them and turning them back on? I honestly am done with it. I know it's just a soap, but I'd rather watch a Disney film where fish can talk than watch this shite. Totally and utterly unbelievable stuff that just wouldn't happen.

I'm glad Phelan isn't dead yet. It's going to be really boring without him. And I don't feel a bit sorry for Eileen. Hope she spends some time inside. She wasn't bothered about poor Anna. Must not take this so seriously. Maybe there could be a spin off and Phelan could marry the B&B owner and then start another spree of havoc.

Viv I don’t feel sorry for Eileen either, she chose not to believe a bad word about Phelan from people that she had known for years, and instead she fell out with so many people for saying things about him.

She also took the choice away, from the victims of his crimes, by stamping on his hand & therefore allowing him to fall into the water, remember she thinks he is dead which would mean that he can’t go to court and stand up to pay for his crimes via prison, if I was any of his victims families then I would be Angry that he ‘died’, obviously he isn’t dead but nobody knows this yet...

I wonder how it’s all going to end up...Confused

Omg I felt so sad for David and Shona tonight Sad when he finished with her, and he was nasty -although he didn’t mean it- and made her feel awful too, this is quite a realistic thing to happen, to a couple, after rape wouldn’t you say? His reaction was so plausible and exactly what I can see so many men doing, and especially when they haven’t told their oh that they were drugged & attacked. This storyline is coming over well so far, imho anyway.

I reckon she will keep the baby, I thought this all along. Towards the end if pregnancy I thought she was actually going to go through it. Last nights episode changed my mind back again, I am sure she will keep her.
