"She is not all that and a bag of chips." is now the quote of the day.
Yes, I know Liv comes across as rude and arrogant, but I choose to see her as very forthright /a straight shooter. I suspect she's just been brought up to be very direct - for example, consider how much her parents talk to her about sex - I suspect that she just doesn't know any other way to be.
"I think you love me more than I love you" is so much more honest than the usual: "It's not you, it's me line." She's not entitled so much as direct. There's absolutely no sugar-coating of anything she says.
A parallel you could draw is that of Lucy Watson, who got a reputation as someone arrogant and rude when she first joined the series, but turned out to be a really interesting / unique character. A very honest and loyal friend, someone slightly awkward and proud, with a big heart - who had simply put up a wall because she'd been hurt in the past.
In fact, Lucy ended up being one of the stand out characters on MiC.
A green flag I notice about Liv is that she's incredibly popular with the other cast mates, despite all that back and forth with Diggers. Literally everyone from Melissa, Habbs, Harry and Jamie are all on her side - Sam and Louise are caught in the middle but both consider her a really good friend.
That suggests that she's got something about her that may not be immediately obvious. Hidden depths!
There's nothing prissy about Liv. I like the fact that she hangs out with the boys - has fun going out drinking with the Myttons and Sams of this world, WITHOUT wasting her time falling in love with them.
A lot of the other girls will sit around complaining about boys who are CLEARLY players, yet these girls still want to have a relationship with them!
Liv has some common sense.
And imagine if everyone was like the (admittedly lovely) Melissa! What an uneventful show it would be! Liv is a more complex character - isn't that what we want?!
And if you think people aren't obsessed with Liv's hair, then you're lucky to have missed out on a whole lot of talk about tresses. It wears on you after a while and I admire her for not giving in to the pressure to change.
