I did have the Brits webpage open during the show because my Little Mix-mad DD was hoping they'd win the best video aware. Tweeted our vote, etc. They were in first place all night on the webpage, including screenshots from others 2 seconds before it closed - also the hashtag for the LM vote was trending globally.

But they didn't win Just about sums up this year's awards really.

The Brits is so conventional. A music industry stitch-up. I'm not sure why I still watch it except that my teens are semi-interested. Couldn't believe how many of the nominations have been doing the rounds for 20 years (or more!). It was very telling that the music-mad DC hadn't heard of many of the nominees (I give you Beck and Liam Gallagher).

And Damon Albarn used to be my celebrity crush - WTF happened to him???

Damon had obviously been on the free booze or whatever!
Gorillaz ( or however you spell it) have been around for nearly 20 years - why now for a win?
My sons assured me that Kendrick lemar is 'good' and paid loads to go and see him the other week - they are both mad obviously, but as it wasn't my money they spent, i just smiled.
Liam is looking hot these days and i never ever fancied him in the 90s at all - it could be my eyesight. live forever is a great song and it was nice to see him there.
Duo Lipa is just there to make the music industry a bit more money- a kind of Uk version of Katy Perry as someone up thread said.
she seems a nice girl though and the songs are very catchy, so i am sure she will be rolling in money in a few months time.
the Foos are always the same at every venue and Justin was a bit boring. I love Rag n bone man and am looking forwards to the ' difficult second album' as Human is very good.
Sam did well too, although he is usually on every Mumsnetters hate list - for reasons i am not sure about. He wasn't nominated yet he still sung a song for them.
still, it was nice to hear some music on the TV. i still miss top of the pops although they cant show too many old ones as half the presenters were vile. bring back a new music show - even if i don't know much about ' new' music. I would still watch it!

The80sweregreat I know what you mean about Liam Gallagher. He does somehow seem sexier now than back in the 90s. Unfortunately (and sadly) the same cannot be said for Damon Albarn.

I agree about music shows too. Having really enjoyed 'The Word' back in the day (and John Peel's Radio 1 'indie' show and even TOTP), I do miss that weekly round-up of the music scene. Frankly I struggle with 'Grime' and 'Hip Hop' and many of the artists that the DC listen to TBQH. And I consider myself to have quite eclectic music tastes. I think I only really enjoyed Dua Lipa of the acts shown t'other night. Although I have a bit of a girl crush on Rita Ora .

Feel like I must have watched a difference performance than everyone else. Liam's singing was woeful. Ok, so his reaaon for performing was good, but its delivery was dreadful.

Mind you I don't think he's remotely attractive. Never was.

Damien Auburn is just as bad.

I've discovered loads of good music ( IMO) the last year or so, I have a Spotify playlist that I collect my current favourite songs on. Apart from Jessie Ware, these artists/bands never seem to make it big. Such a shame. Happy to share my list via pm if anyone is interested?
