QP - sooner than you think. Plenty of positives, beat all the top teams this season, just lost too many games where we dominated and created 20 chances but didn't score. S0 hopefully next year. Dont forget what our kids did in the league cup this year, and we got to the champions league final only last year.

ZZMum · 02/05/2007 11:33

They "only won on Penalties" .... oooh Jose would be proud of you.. the fact is that WE WON WE WON... and you LOST!

Quootiepie · 02/05/2007 11:34

but they always seem to just fall short of winning. Just not quite good enough. They are a pretty team, useless against a really strong, fierce team... and alot of lower teams are coming up, and to be honest I think Arsenal may not cope next season. They skimmed through this season, but they aren't a good solid team.

gothicmama · 02/05/2007 11:35

'they only won on penalties' that cos they scored more than yourlot did

foxinsocks · 02/05/2007 11:36

aDad, you are suffering from the curse of the new stadium. Besides, you're in the CL for next year - that's what matters now.

Just wait till they pull down the Kop!!

gothicmama · 02/05/2007 11:39

ah yes but the kop transcends being a mere building

aDad · 02/05/2007 11:41

damn right it's the curse of the new stadium.

QP - i do agree in part, we miss some grit and experience, but i think we've done really well away against smaller teams that would have bullied us in the past. With the odd blip. We miss a decent captain too - cos henry isn't captain material IMO, and his head has been wrong for a long time.

Leander · 02/05/2007 13:45

When We move from Anfield the atmosphre will still be electric, Have you ever been to Anfield? those on the Kop are not the only ones with voices the whole stadium is LOUD.
We only won on penalties, yeah but we won Our players scored all our pens our keeper saved 2 of yours. Also our 2nd goal was not offside.Im sure with every ticket Chelsea sell they send out instructions from "the special one" on how to be a gracios loser.

forgot to say, at the end of full time there was a close up of Drogba and ds (5) shouted Dad dad ive just seen the big blue cheating fairy

that comment is fab, leander- give your son a pat on the back(it had made me giggle any way)

twas a great match although dh made me watch it on the portable tvbut i bet tonight he's allowed to watch the mighty(or so he says)Man U on the proper tv...

I don't like matches involving Man U and Liverpool as the children don't know who to turn too- it's the one thing that dh and i will never agree on.....Come on Liverpool!!!

Leander · 02/05/2007 13:57

hey chatee, how are you? Cant belive dh made you watch them on the portable(grounds for divorce that is )If i was you i would take the fuse out of the tv tonight and make him watch the mancs on the small tv.If it is a northwest final you have to do the right thing and put them in a Liverpool kit.

chatee · 02/05/2007 14:05

dd has both kits but will support either team(depends upon which parent she is near or who she thinks will give her the most pocket money
ds is a little too young to fully understand the consequences yet but only has a liverpool strip(and of course a carlisle united one too)
i'm well btw, how are you? i bet it was (and still is) high in liverpool last night and today- fingers crossed for the final and if they win i am definetly coming down for the parade- don't care what dh says-or the fact it will be over a 4 hour round trip....dd so needs to experience the parade on queens drive(we have an aunty who lives there so great viewing point although knowing my luck it would go another way!!!)
I can remember being 7 years old and watching the boys come home with the European CUp- I had no voice at school the next day with shouting so much----please let my dd have this experience too xxxxxxxx

Lucycat · 02/05/2007 14:10

Now for once in my life I'd like Liverpool to win (assuming that Utd get through too) as I'm a Blue.

It's really difficult to keep the atmosphere in a new stadium, you are much further away from the pitch and you do lose some of the atmosphere because of it. we were moved 'en block' with the rest of our season ticket holding friends but it just isn't the same - it's too big and concretey - even with 42000 in there it still feels souless.

ok yeh the football is crap most of the time so that doesn't help!

I hope they get it right for you.

Leander · 02/05/2007 14:12

We are all fine chatee,DD was 2 on Monday so had a lovely but hectic weekend. Not if but WHEN we win rthe cup i will deffo be there singing at the top of my lungs, I missed them bringing home our 5th cup cause i had just had E so we will all be there this time.
