Hello PWBs, Lurkers and anyone else who is remotely interested.

Just read the first article I've seen about the January CBB - apparently they are starting off with all women.

Didn't they do this before or has reality TV made me imagine things?

Will anyone be watching this time???

Miss - people can deny biology, but a woman is an adult human female with XX chromosones. India has XY and is a man.

Sole - they had lots of shades of gold an a silver and pink glitter today, oh and a black one too which was bizarre. Didn't see the white. Would be very icy! You could wear a blue dress and pretend to be Elsa.

MsGame - exactly!

Yes, most of them seem quite shocked that he has reacted in that way to the misgendering. Probably because, like most people, they are not in the Twittersphere with this stuff and don't even know what a TERF, so don't understand that India would expect misgendering to be seen by everyone as a horrific, unforgivable crime.

Whatnextxx · 05/01/2018 23:57

There are 100's of TV Channels, why would anyone want to watch mind numbing crap like this where a man pretends to be a woman by having his dick chopped off and another man dresses as a parody of a woman to celebrate 100 years since women got the vote? It is an insult to the suffragettes who actually fought and died to give us the vote

frogz · 06/01/2018 00:01

I realised during that argument with Amanda that I would probably refer to India as "he" when talking about him, he can tell me he's a woman all he likes but if he can't convince my unconscious there's not much I can do about it.

I fancy that one from the apprenticeBlush.

GINUWINE though! I squealed!

Missrabbitneedsabreak · 06/01/2018 00:03

Anne personally I think that's a very black and white view of the issue. I don't necessarily think that genes are everything. The whole nature/nurture thing can come into it. I do get the argument about male privilege and that she's not lived her whole life experiencing womanhood. But... personally I was really glad they put a transgender person into the house. I think it's representative of modern views of fluidity with gender etc. Which I'm all for. And i would have been dissapointed if they hadn't put a transgender person in.

I'm not here to argue. I respect everyone has their opinion. I just find some of the IW comments on here a bit uncomfortable and was generally surprised by how unbalanced the debate is on this thread. But it should be a CBB thread after all and this may not be the place for that debate

Dowser · 06/01/2018 00:11

So before I fall head first into the rabbit hole of PC incorrectness
How does one address Courtney when using a pronoun instead of a name.

I’m going to a pantomime on Sunday with the grandkids..I hope I don’t mess up there with the Dame !

Itchytights · 06/01/2018 00:12

Whatnextxx

I am a long term lurker to these CBB/ BB threads as they are lighthearted and fun. Although I have never previously posted, they make me laugh in an otherwise very serious and quite depressing world.

Off you pop with your nasty comments. If you don’t like the show, then that’s your choice but please leave the rest of us to enjoy these threads in the nice way they are intended.

Close the door on your way out.

Night.

I don't have a problem with people dressing how they wish, pretending to be something they're not if it makes them happy. I do object when that person then decides that they can enforce everyone else to endorse that delusion. You can't change sex, that's a biological fact. I'm happy to accept someone living their life however they like but they can't have cosmetic surgery, put on a dress and claim that's what makes a woman because it doesn't.

IW showed his male privilege tonight when he was shouting down an 82 year old lesbian woman who was trying to apologise for accidentally using the biologically correct pronoun after carefully and politely using his "preferred" pronoun for several days.

IW is well known for being very anti pre-op trans people and drag queens. Will it be ok if he expresses these opinions to Courtney?

@Itchytights - stay and post! Grab a Pussy Pop and make yourself at home.

GINUWINE though! I squealed! Me too. I choked and pressed rewind on my remote, like what! Somebody get the pony back from Gemma it needs ridding. 😂

MsGameandWatching · 06/01/2018 00:19

But it should be a CBB thread after all and this may not be the place for that debate

IW is in the CBB house aggressively asserting his status and rights as a trans person. As long as he’s in there doing that then of course it will be discussed on this thread. What is acceptable discussion then? The colour of the diary room chair? Who snores the loudest? No other person creating drama in there would be ignored, they’d be a huge talking point and that’s what’s happening here.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 06/01/2018 00:19

Wish there had been a live feed tonight.

When is the first eviction?

OP posts:
Whatnextxx · 06/01/2018 00:20

Itchytights you are part of the problem if you do not have the intelligence to recognise the harm this nonsense is doing to sex equality

MsGameandWatching · 06/01/2018 00:22

The men apart from IW might be exempt from nomination. If that’s the case I could see IW going first.

Itchytights · 06/01/2018 00:25

Anne

Smile Thank you- will do!

Not exactly sure when 1st eviction is but only women are nominating. The men are taking part in a typewriter task tomorrow, where the winner will win immunity from the 1st eviction.

I loved the show tonight Grin

SoleBizzz · 06/01/2018 00:27

RubyJack PWB admin will be giving typewriter lessons in the house. I wondered where she was.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 06/01/2018 00:29

MsGame - that would be a good twist. Is it vote to save or evict? I really should pay more attention!

Itchy - that's good news!

I hope the task is "sing a rap".

OP posts:
DameDoom · 06/01/2018 00:31

I would have loved a live feed tonight. Am going out tomorrow night so will catch up through a squinty, drunk eye in the wee smalls.
Courtney looks so feminine - perhaps she'll give Johnathan a much-needed makeover.

IhaveChillyToes · 06/01/2018 00:31

Totally agree Anne

Chromosomes define us from birth

XX = female

XY = male

XXY = intersex (I hope is correct term)

I do not care who dresses in whatever they like (though think they should dress in better more normal clothes) and have better hairstyles or better extensions

I actually wish that the world our children will be growing up in wasn't so argumentative and angry about using wrong pronouns.

So now politics, religion and now accidental use of wrong pronouns will cause arguments and fights

Perhaps we should all be called IT so nobody gets offended

Or everyone has to walk on eggshells all the time, what a horrible world for our children to grow up in

The "professional offended groups" just seem to want to cause trouble and arguments rather than accept everyone is different and has different viewpoints and opinions some of whom you agree with and others you don't.

IMHO IW was wanting to be offended and was acting like you tube video the toddler who throws them-self on the floor screaming then the parent ignores them and goes into different room so toddler stops screaming gets up, follows the mum then throws them self down on floor again screaming and mum walks off again ignoring etc etc

So if a trans person wears trousers and thick coat or baggy jumper and someone thinks they are male then a fight might happen just cos of a mistaken gender --- how is that right? A mistake leads to angry fight rather than trans person just thinking oh we'll never mind.

Why is that different to someone thinking I am a man if wearing jeans and thick coat? I just either answer the question asked of me, like directions "excuse me sir could you tell me how to get to London road?" Just answer question or laugh and say I am a lady and make them feel embarrassed then answer the question?
No need at all for anger is there?

*ANYWAY SO PLEASED THAT THE SHOW WILL HAVE MORE CHARACTERS IN THERE NOW, EVEN THOUGH SOME OF THEM I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF BEFORE
*
is love island just sleeping with different people each night or is there more to it than that?

DameDoom · 06/01/2018 00:33

Well said IHaveChilly

Missrabbitneedsabreak · 06/01/2018 00:35

anne no that wouldn't be ok and that would be very prejudiced of her, which would be silly coming from someone who is often prejudiced against. I don't like some of the anti IW / trans-aren't-real-women comments on here personally but that doesn't mean I agree with everything IW says and does.

Ms I personally didn't see any of her actions as aggressive. Defensive yes, slightly over sensitive yes, maybe a tad dramatic yes, but aggressive?? I didn't see any evidence of that. Did I miss something? From what I saw she wasn't abusive, didn't get in anyone's space and wasn't offensive. Did I miss something? (Genuine question)

Tippexy · 06/01/2018 00:36

@Dowser

Courtney said in the house that she is very chilled out about it; when she’s dressed as C then she likes female pronouns and when he is dressed as Shane then he prefers male. But she appeared very relaxed and fine about it, as it should be.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 06/01/2018 00:37

Well said Chilly

OP posts:
Missrabbitneedsabreak · 06/01/2018 00:41

chillytoes Its so easy to jump on the whole "PC bandwagon" or "professionally offended"
argument (that one is new to me and made me lol and roll my eyes simultaneously). Yes you'll get lots of pats on the back for that because there are a lot of prejudiced people in the world who would like to be able to defend their views by saying "the world has gone PC mad". I'd like to hope the world is becoming more accepting and tolerant. Clearly not
