Can I say that I like Chris B - not the one who was ousted last night...

ALW's facial expressions during the performances are priceless ! Still Daniel and Lee for me....

Last night was the first time I was actually mildly impressed with Keith but he looks all wrong! Does anyone else wish we could see more of the stuff they do during the week? - those acting sessions with John Barrowman looked hilarious. And surely it would be useful for the voting public (and the MN critics ) to see how good the guys are at that kind of thing. I just wanted to see more of -Rob, was it? - telling John Barrowman why he couldn't stand him...

Remember last year when all the Marias had to kiss him?

beansprout · 13/05/2007 12:28

Perhaps we could volunteer ourselves for that test this year?

slayerette · 13/05/2007 12:30

Get in line - behind me...

[drifts off to picture being manfully kissed by John Barrowman in manner of Regency hero and heroine on front of Mills and Boon book, conveniently ignoring the very slight drawback of our hero's sexuality...]

beansprout · 13/05/2007 12:31

You are welcome to Mrs Barrowman, it's Lee I'm after!

beansprout · 13/05/2007 12:32

Lee seems to be the only one who doesn't have mum/nana/sad girlfriend screaming for him the audience?

DumbledoresGirl · 13/05/2007 14:28

Slayerette, yes! You have made the point I kept meaning to make all last night. I think it is incredible that they don't give away more about the other skills the contestants have. Last night's exercise with John barrowman not only looked a lot of fun, but JB said at the end that some of them clearly did not have the ability to show a range of emotions. Well, it would be nice to know who those people were. Surely it is as relevant to who we should be supporting as their singing ability is? And it is in the producer's interests to let us know too, because it won't make for a successful production if the chosen man is a crap actor.

I watched all of the Maria show but can't remember seeing them having to kiss JB. Now wouldn't that be hard to do? I still think they should have just got JB to be Joseph!

DumbledoresGirl · 13/05/2007 14:29

Oh and re Lee's supporters: did no-one else spot Seamus in the audience last night cheering Lee on?

slayerette · 13/05/2007 15:59

Ooh - JB as Joseph...Now picturing the loin cloth and coming over all peculiar...

RosaLuxembourg · 13/05/2007 17:09

I spotted him too - Dumbledore's Girl. He looked quite pleased with himself - maybe he HAS got a show of his own!

DumbledoresGirl · 13/05/2007 18:53

Well I hate to say it because his ego is already inflated to bursting point, but I would be glad for him if he had been given a show of his own as he had much more talent and charisma than many of the boys still in the competition.

binkleandflip · 13/05/2007 22:14

If you look on the bbc website, I think there is only Keith left who hasn't already done stage work/musicals/acting or whatever - even though Daniel has been hyped up as just an administrator at a cement company or whatever - he's actually an actor already - so, with that in mind I think Keith deserves it more

lyrabelacqua · 13/05/2007 22:26

The others aren't exactly stars though. They deserve the big break just as much as someone who's worked in a supermarket since leaving school.

binkleandflip · 13/05/2007 22:31

No, but they've all had some kind of formal training/prior experience was the point I was making, so it's nice to see the real rank outsider holding his own and sometimes surpassing the others.

lyrabelacqua · 13/05/2007 22:38

That's true, but he's still odd looking [wink}
ALW would sell more tickets with Lee in the lead role.

binkleandflip · 13/05/2007 22:46

Yes, agree that Lee is defo the big puller as far as the ladeees are concerned..but, I dont know, he's just a bit too good, too polished - although I could look at all week... I've booked in July to go see whoever wins anyway..I love Joseph, it gets me so nostalgic!!

lyrabelacqua · 13/05/2007 22:50

I'd forgotten how good the songs are. I've only seen one ALW musical (jesus Christ Superstar - i think it was him!) on the stage and it was fantastic. How much are Joseph tickets? I'd better book now or they'll be sold out by the time the winner is announced.

binkleandflip · 13/05/2007 22:51

We got two stall tickets for a saturday night - they were £49.50 each.

pointydog · 13/05/2007 22:55

who was the guy who totally murdered Maggie May by singing it in some ridculous over-enunciated way?

That was shocking.

'Wahke up Mahggie, Aaii think Aiii've got sohmething to sahhy too yoooooh'

lyrabelacqua · 13/05/2007 22:57

That was Daniel. he'd been told the previous week that he was too much of a Mr Nice Guy so he was trying too hard to be Mr Nasty this week.
Thanks Binkle. Might just wait till Keith gets voted off before i buy though, just in case.

binkleandflip · 13/05/2007 22:58

Think that was Craig the cabaret singer? Either him or Daniel

binkleandflip · 13/05/2007 23:00

Lyra, you might have to come with me - my dh has got a right monk on about me buying him a ticket to go! He's not really one for the musicals...my dd has conceded that she'll come with me if I'm stuck - she's five - she'll love it - she wants to marry Lewis aaahhh!!

Tillyboo · 13/05/2007 23:16

Still Keith for me. Superior voice and I think he is just the 'quirky' Joseph ALW is looking for.
I'd defo pay money to go see him.

I thought Craig did well but he does that licky lippy thing that looks all wrong.

Don't like Daniel. I agree he murdered his song.

Lewis is sweet but bends his knees too much

Rob had a great voice but NOT Joseph. I could see him in Les Mis.

Lee has a lovely voice when not trying too hard, probably the best actor

Um, who is left ?

Oh, Ben .... Hmmmmm, a born entertainer but as Bill said, fine line between brilliance and arrogance and for me the latter is winning. Maybe too young and immature - afterall you don't tell ALW that he doesn't know what he is talking about !!!! Big mistake

binkleandflip · 13/05/2007 23:18

Keith for me too. Not fanciable in the slightest but great conviction in his performances

lyrabelacqua · 13/05/2007 23:21

Maybe keith, if you could go and see Joseph blindfolded and just listen to the songs
At least with Lee you'd have a visual treat as well.
