I wonder if Talia will be given another chance? I'm not sure who chooses the wild cards, sometimes it's the Great British Public and sometimes the judges choose each others. If they announced tonight, it must be the latter. And that means it'a a sabotage job- so Louis will bring back Slavko .

it does mean there will be a lot of acts at live shows- when the live shows are going to end a lot earlier than normal.

Well whatserface had 3 chances to sing songs so anything can happen!

Maybe they will do a double vote off or something similar, to speed up the ending of the series, Also I'm sure I heard that they were doing an original song for the winners song?!

I do hope they don't let the winning act write their own winning song! Most of them are very lacking in the lyrics department.

So last night I discovered that Baguette wasn't actually named Baguette. Then this morning I discover that Rat Soup aren't actually Rat Soup. Is nothing no longer real?! Is this real life? Or is it fantasy? Next you will tell me that Jeremy Hunt is actually a decent person.

If Graceadele wins and does one of her own winning songs, i really doubt it will set the charts alight.

80s yes, it was - written by Ed . You could definitely tell it was one of 'his' but it was not one of his finest.

No doubt, Matt will be wheeled out for his official 'second' single (though he has done the 'featured artist' thing already) , and then possibly disappear into oblivion, like Ben Who?Now?

At least it was a Christmas song though, last year. Of sorts. For a
change. It should be compulsory.

I miss when the winner's single was a proper release, that they rushed hot off the press (usually with Andi Peters in a factory somewhere) but they don't bother with that any more .

I like Gracie but wonder how she’ll do in the lives when she doesn’t sing her own songs. Love rai-Elle too. I felt sad when holly was crying because she’s normally so hardcore

I think the whole rage against the machine thing pissed off Simon & that’s why they don’t hype the xmas number 1 being their aim - it’s a bit embarrasing when you get beaten by a song that hasn’t been played on the radio for 15 years & is so full of swearing that radio can’t really play it anyway!

I think Talia will be the wild card, she was in loads of the papers this week making the most of ‘fame’

nancy you are probably right, because she has been in a bit of bother for apparently twittering about who the final 12 were before it was officially known. I saw that yesterday. But I kind of assumed at that point, that she was one of them

They still managed quite a few big Christmas number ones, even after the 'Rage' thing, though. But it did make other acts try and take a shot at the 'reality acts'.

Louisa Johnson's single was the real low point I think, and it was a dreary number. (I'm not a Dylan fan, anyway). I think the Wandies (back when all the the finalists did different 'winner's singles') were supposed to do 'Forever Young' too- but we didn't get to see them perform it, because they were booted off too soon . At least - I assume it was the Dylan song- and not the Alphaville one

It's also a lot more difficult now, with streaming and downloads , to guarantee anything. One upon a time, a big death like George Michael's for example, would have propelled his hits to the top- but it didn't happen last year. Lots of charity singles were released that sunk without a trace, too.

I used to work in a record shop- I still find it interesting how the charts can be manipulated. Or not.

I have no idea who is number one anymore! I looked it up and was none the wiser..my ds 2 ( 20) said 'its all collaborations these days mum, not like the old days ' ..thanks mate..
Still, other son bought a record player and is building up a vinyl collection so he is also ' stuck in the past ' lol..( he is 24)
