It’s new, airing in the US, coming to Sky Living in the UK. It features Freddie Highmore who played Normen Bates in Bates Motel, which is what got my attention.

Anyway, it’s about an autistic surgeon, working in a hospital, I watched the first episode and I would definitely recommend it, it’s very good and powerful

I watched the first three episodes last night. I really enjoyed it. I'm not finding it too stereotypical as others have. Flashbacks are good. Am enjoying seeing how they are managing to show his humanity but also how hard it is for others around him to see it and understand him.
I've just started watching series one of the a word as well, only watched one episode so far, finding a word very emotional as we are waiting for DS assessment at the moment.

Oh mama. FlowersMy dts were assessed when they were little. All was OK. Well we still have concerns about dt1 sometimes. I find watching things like this very emotional too.

Thanks Teddy - we are a few weeks ahead of you. I actually found the first few episodes more tick-box, but now the series has settled, the other characters and relationships are developing (including Menendez lol)

TheweewitchRoz · 13/11/2017 22:25

I’ve watched the first 3 episodes & I’m really enjoying it. The flashbacks are heartbreaking.

Foreverretro · 18/11/2017 23:12

I’m absolutely loving this show, have watched the first 4 episodes now and it’s getting better every episode Smile

To me you can definitely tell it’s by the people who made House, it has the same vibe to it.

Really looking forward to see where they take it!

WasDoingFine · 02/12/2017 18:58

I'm really enjoying it as l work in theatre and ds1 is autistic

minesapintofwine · 08/12/2017 22:26

Are we all still watching this? The line tonight "it also means I didn't have to take Kava root"... creased Grin. My attention was waning but that definitely brought it back.

WasDoingFine · 09/12/2017 20:53

Yep! It made me laugh

TheweewitchRoz · 09/12/2017 21:11

Made me laugh a lot too - loved it! Grin

Jared has really grown on me now and pleased to see the clinical lead man (clearly with an insignificant name as I can't remember it) show some faith in Sean

shittyshitybangbang · 13/12/2017 17:12

I started watching it last night on Now Tv and I love it. I really hope it doesn't get cancelled.

The flash backs make be cry and the episode where the boy that looks like his brother.

rabbitsdontlayeggs · 15/12/2017 21:34

Just binged watched the first three episodes of this. The flashbacks are so sad! You can definitely tell it's from the maker of House, I'll be delighted if it turns out as good as I loved House.

TheRealKimmySchmidt63 · 15/12/2017 23:35

I didn't get the conversation in the track field between the top surgeon and the second in charge - are they related?

WasDoingFine · 16/12/2017 18:36

My interpretation was that she and maybe his daughter were friends as teenagers

TheweewitchRoz · 16/12/2017 23:41

I thought the same Fine & that somehow his daughter died / disappeared which is why he took Sean under his wing when he did.

FrustratedTeddyLamp · 02/01/2018 14:07

Finally caught up and still loving it
