Has anyone seen Angel on Dragon's Den before she met Dick? I enjoyed watching it. She was incredibly self assured and won two backers, but apparently the scheme didn't go ahead.

For those asking about Dick's first wife, my friend knows her: she recently got remarried and is very happy. She does a lot of eco work, as per their previous TV show. She seems lovely from what I see of her popping up in my friend's Facebook.

Choccy do you know why their marriage ended if not could you find out? Mrs Strawbridge #1 and Angel are poles apart.

Shifty she has altered the bio and made herself more "humble!" It used to say something like "most people assume Angel is a graduate of Central Saint Martins"

Interesting that Dick's other children are not mentioned, especially as one co-hosted/presented Robot Wars with him.

I remember her bio saying that and having a quiet snort to myself. I'd say there were a lot of egos in that house!

It always makes me laugh that Dick calls her 'Angela'. None of this 'Angel Adoree' bollocks.

Yes I love the way Dick calls her Angela. Angel Adoree... She needs to refine her grammar in the bio. Things are better, not is.

Just read this article which states that Angel's parents look after the children every day. Apparently "Dick has always dreamed of a multi-generational family.....because that is what families do, help each other" That explains the urgency of the granny flat then.

I hope Dick is planning to build his oldest two a bungalow on the grounds so that he can be a doting grandfather to their dc...because that is what families do.

Angela's mum did say they had been living in temporary accommodation for two years - i suppose they may have had to save up in order to have the barn done or maybe planning permission - or just the fact that the chateau was priority so they could start doing the weddings and foodie weekends, so it was on the back burner.
I guess its all fine if you can drive and you dont mind living somewhere so isolated, but I can see its appeal, but I wouldnt like it much myself. They are lucky to have so much help - it wouldn;t have been able to happen without childcare as there is so much to do and the wedding weekends etc must take up heaps more time than the bit they show us.

The80's if I was providing daily free child care for my daughter and she had 40+ free bedrooms I would like to think that she would offer me one rather than pay for temporary accommodation. Talking about taking the mic...

Tbf the parents might have insisted on their own accommodation until the bath was converted.

sukitea, i know, i do agree with you. Maybe they took one look at the rooms that they could have and thought no!
It really was awful when they first moved in - maybe they just wanted their own space for a while but still be able to help out with the children and drive over each day. It wasnt made clear really, but they were around in the very first series a lot more than the second one.
I bet that the barn will be lovely when its all done.
