I'm excited by Shirley Ballas joining the judging panel, fancy that, two female presenters and equal numbers of men and women on the panel! I think she will be great.

There's no way Frankie would have said any of that! Mollie is too old for AJ surely?

She doesn't look older than her years exactly, but in an undefinable way she looks like his mum - albeit a mum who's taken spectacularly good care of her looks.

I suspect Frankie was asked about Mollie being on Strictly and whether she was up for a romance. Frankie probably made a throw-away comment like "She's a single girl" and the entire article has been built around that.

Wasn't she linked with Prince Harry a few years back, or am I thinking of someone else?

I'm not sure that AJ is that way inclined anyway.

Can I join the thread? I have absolutely no dancing experience but I did once play tennis with Tim Henman if that counts.

Studio rehearsals seem to be happening as both Susan and The Rev are tweeting.

Rev seems impressed with Debbie McGee. I think she could do well in the early weeks with her performance and ballet background.

Thanks CaveMum . She'll need stamina though, I hope she has it, Leslie Josephs did well. I don't know if they are of similar ages.

1958 makes her 4 years younger than my mum 😱 She started on the Paul Daniel's Magic Show in 1979. Not sure I believe she was only 21 with a ballet career behind her by that stage .

Hi all. Joining rather late!

My thoughts on the launch show:

Jonnie P seems very laid-back. He might do well.
LOVE the Rev. New gay best friend.
Debbie McG is a bit of a ringer but will come unstuck with Latin. Interested to read here about her age. I'd put her as older than that too.
Susan and Kevin will be a scream.
Alexandra is a bit dull but will do well. She and Gorka look nice together.
Charlotte reminds me of Julian Rhind-Tutt. Not a very gallant thing to say, I know but it's the squarish face. And the hair.
Chizzy is a bit of a cliched 'fat funny person', which Strictly is often guilty of, but I think she's quite likeable.
Gemma is a bit boring but I like Aljaz, so come on Alma!
Nothing much to say about Mollie or Ruth at this stage.
Aston and Janette will be a great couple to watch. I think she'll push him hard.
Brian gives me the creeps. Has he been touched by the shadow of Operation Yewtree? Or does he just make me think of that?
Davood is a good-looking plank.
Joe is sweet and I love Katya; she was ace with Ed last year.
Don't much like Simon so far. He seems bad-tempered. [irrational] Love Karen though.
