Just finished binge watching this.
V intriguing, I liked the slowness of it and the atmosphere, and slow dread.

But wtf?!

Was is all about the toxic waste?
Were there aliens/something supernatural?
Why were there 2 Annas at the end??
Where did that hole in the floor of the shed at the Sullivan's house lead to?
What happened at the antarctic expedition? And how did ScientistGuy survive?
What will the moths? OMG, the moths!!

Please somebody post a pithy synopsis that sums it all up
Ta muchly.
Confusedly yours.
Thanks

At least I am not alone in being confused and frustrated
Hmm

The moss, the creepy, growing moss.
The lichen growing on people.
Aaargh!

Sounds intriguing. Which channel/platform?

PacificDogwod · 13/08/2017 18:31

I've watched it on Sky catch-up/boxset.

It's very good and very creepy, but it left me with more questions than explanations.

Oooh, no idea, but you've got me interested now so when I've finally watched it, I'll be back..... maybe

PacificDogwod · 13/08/2017 18:48

Please do come back, Judas, I need all the help in understanding I can get Grin

If you watched and liked Top of the Lake, you'll like this too.

I watched it a while ago and couldn't currently tie it all together in my head for you but there were two Anna's at the end because the real Anna actually went missing with her friend during the original incident and somehow ended up living in that underground place with the other missing girl... so she was replaced by some alien doppelgänger who grew up with her human twin's memories etc and didn't realise who/what she actually was. At least, i think it was all to do with some kind of alien/secret government organisation/experiments... I loved it. Am hoping they decide to do a second season. Helpful? Grin

PacificDogwod · 13/08/2017 19:19

So, the Anna we see and follow is the imposter?
The 'lights' were UFO/alien lights?
Nothing to do with the dumping of toxic/radioactive waste?

How about her mother's and the doctor's blood being altered/not human?
And what about the spiky Sputnik like thing that somehow caused the skin lesions??

*Ellen, yes, thank you, that was helpful. A bit...

Apparently, a second season is not in production yet. Hmm

It's just like waiting for the resolution of Game of Thrones books.
"George R R Martin is not your bitch" - I keep having to remind myself of that.
it seems the same goes for the makers of KI.

Patience is not one of my strong points.
Humph.

Oh is this the Tasmania set one with the actress from the Night Manager!? I read about this ages ago. But I don't have Sky! Sad

PacificDogwod · 13/08/2017 19:36

Yes, that's the one.

Anybody know whether The Night Manager is currently available on any platform?
I need something else to become sucked into and then despair of Grin

Sorry, Serf Thanks

SerfTerf · 13/08/2017 19:40

The Night Manager is now on Amazon Prime. I might rewatch it myself as a consolation prize 😏

PacificDogwod · 13/08/2017 19:42

Oh, really?
Thank you, I'll have a look.

Might they have the KI also? You never know.

Paid for ATM but I've added it to my watchlist Smile

EllenRipley · 13/08/2017 21:18

Grintold you the rest was a scramble in my head! Yeah all those other mysterious plot points never really got tied into any kind of coherent resolution. At least, not that I noticed. I think I read the second series was meant to go into production straight away but it all got put on hold because the ratings weren't high enough. Which is massively frustrating, I do love a bit of mysterious storytelling.

EllenRipley · 13/08/2017 21:21

P.s the whole alien angle was just my assumption, couldn't work out if the lights and the toxic dumping thing were related to that or a whole other subplot.
