Is anyone watching?

I watched the first one on Feb. I wouldn't say I enjoyed it but it was fascinating and stayed with me for ages afterwards

Ther s 15 mins left still time for a plot twist

OP posts:
HarveySchlumpfenburger · 31/07/2017 22:14

There has to be a twist.

Kelsar · 31/07/2017 22:16

What?!?!

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 31/07/2017 22:22

I didn't see that coming after the info from the police interview.

Spuddington · 31/07/2017 22:29

That was so unsatisfactory.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 31/07/2017 22:30

I've just said that. It feels like it isn't finished and someone should be trying to find a better outcome.

Kelsar · 31/07/2017 22:31

Very disappointing !

motheroreily · 31/07/2017 22:37

I know. Worrying the jury asked "how sure do we have to be?"

There's so many bits that are unresolved. Where did the money go? What was that extra bank account? Did the bar have cctv?

Haven't read the thread as I don't want to spoil it for myself when I get round to watching it. Has this one been as compelling as the previous episode (with the girl, her boyfriend and their baby who was badly injured while in their care)?

motheroreily · 31/07/2017 22:41

I found the other episode more compelling to be honest. But this was still good

OP posts:
pineappleeyes · 31/07/2017 22:58

Oh yes Kenzey who's partner had allegedly injured their baby. Was that ep 1?
I'm getting the accused confused with the mock trial of the man who had killed his estranged wife who was pregnant.

What was the outcome of Kenzeys case?

Igottastartthinkingbee · 01/08/2017 08:24

pineapple I think they were both found guilty. She also had another child taken into care from birth during the case (maybe from prison? Can't remember the exact details). Awful case, vile boyfriend, she was an incredible liar and her mother seemed deluded about her daughter. Poor child to have been born to those two.

ceecee32 · 01/08/2017 12:30

I have just watched this (sorry to be late to the discussion)

The third interview which was not disclosed suggested that he had £30k of his own in the investment account which had also 'disappeared'

I am sure that if someone had taken my own money that i would be a bit concerned about it and that it would form part of my defence. To not mention it at all is a bit suspect to me

IfYouGoDownToTheWoodsToday · 01/08/2017 20:57

I have just watched this too. I actually thought he was Not Guilty- but am now confused about the 30K. I thought the 30K was made up of the stolen money, but are they saying the 26K went AND his 30K had gone as well?

ceecee we have money in savings accounts and I wouldn't notice for months if it all disappeared off to check it now

IfYouGoDownToTheWoodsToday · 01/08/2017 21:04

I have just watched the third interview again,

The 26K was taken out of the ladies account then put into Lukash's account, then put into his FXPro account. And it made a total of 30K. Why didn't they ask him where the 26K came from, if he knew it was in there?[confuded]

ceecee32 · 01/08/2017 21:08

I thought he had £30k of his own money! But he said that he had not withdrawn anything at all and would have to check statements. Either way they all seemed unconcerned that his own money had disappeared

refusetobeasheep · 01/08/2017 21:09

A good watch. Overall I think I'd have found guilty too, too much just not adding up ....

IfYouGoDownToTheWoodsToday · 01/08/2017 21:22

But couldn't HE have moved it, into another account and just pretended he hadn't?

pineappleeyes · 01/08/2017 21:38

The 26k was transferred from the deceased ladies account to his account then to his fx pro account. They didn't know where the 26k/30k went. The barristers said at the end the trail went cold. They prosecution were hoping it could prove he'd withdrawn it but they couldn't.

No doubt in my mind he was guilty. I found his story embarrassing, I think the defence barrister did too.

bee thanks for confirming about ep 1 yes Kenzey was a pathological liar I think. Totally brainwashed by her disgusting boyfriend. Her mum was deluded. A sad case a round.

IfYouGoDownToTheWoodsToday · 01/08/2017 21:45

Yes that is how I understand it too, now Pine

His story was so pathetic.
There were too many coincidences but the clincher for me is that he admitted he knew the 26K was in his account, but did not report it. The first thing any innocent bank worker would do, would be to go and see your manager!

LemonadeWithACherry · 02/08/2017 14:17

It was really bizarre. I also was expecting a twist at the end! Why on earth didn't he just admit it? He was in complete denial, including of his sexuality, and seemed to have convinced himself that fraudsters are bad people, and he was not a bad person, ergo he was not guilty.

I wonder what happened to the money? Maybe he kept up the denials because then he would still have the money after going to jail? I can't help thinking he put it in an account for his beloved brother. Or maybe the organised crime/blackmail theories are right.

I love programs like this!

motheroreily · 02/08/2017 19:50

It was so strange. The twist was - there is no twist.

I'm rewatching the first one.

OP posts:
pineappleeyes · 02/08/2017 20:27

I think he'd convinced himself he couldn't possibly have done it which is why unsaid I thought he had a personality disorder.

I was frustrated that it didn't mention when, how or where the 26k was withdrawn from...or did I miss that. They said the trail went cold but was it even investigated

I also wondered if the police investigated whether or not he was due an inheritance and if so how much Etc.

IfYouGoDownToTheWoodsToday · 02/08/2017 20:53

I think the fact he did not provide any evidence as to where his 30K came from, speaks volumes.

cushioncovers · 02/08/2017 21:03

No doubt in my mind he was guilty. I found his story embarrassing, I think the defence barrister did too.

Yes this.
