Did anyone see it LOL, I was meant to be taking DS out & was struggling to turn it off.

The buyer looked like she spent a lot of time in front of the mirror, very over made up with orange skin.

Cathering Gee was saying "but some people feel when they buy an old property that they have a resposibility to protect it, would you?"

Orange buyer"No Id knock out the back walls and put in mirrors & a bar"

Catherine "what about this lovely old staircase"
Orange buyer "no id rip it out & put in a chrome one"

PMSL it was almost funny as watching the pregnant Kirsty with that goatee bearded numpty she took a dislike to on relocation.

I watched part fo this but the blonde umpa lumpa annoyed me so much I turned over. She should buy a new build the silly cow! Old houses are full of character and should stay that way imo!

ledodgyDave · 08/03/2007 13:45

Mind you did you see the house she has now it was awful in the description on Sky they described it as 'unique'.

GRUMPYGIRL · 08/03/2007 13:50

No I missed the end of it as I HAD to take DS to toddler gym - I can imagine anywhere she lived would be "unique"

I missed the beginning too so I couldnt quite decide who was married to who im assuming Miss Youve been tangoed was the buyer as she seemed to over rule everyone else.

Its a major bugbear to me that people buy old properties and then rip out their hearts. I like old and I like modern but I wouldnt destroy an old property to make it modern and "fashionable" if I really wanted somewhere modern I would buy something that had no character to start with.

i'm normally at work but was having a very rare work at home day, caught the beginning and HAD to keep watching. Am now thinking of giving up my job so i can watch every morning - it was hilarious. The tangoed woman's clothes - that green maid-marion-crossed-with-total-slapper thing, complete with VERY unflattering belt and weird espadrilles. And the make up.... had to turn the brightness down on me telly!! And as for the son... you could just see their appalling taste rubbing off on him couldn't you .... must be emotional abuse of some kind to bring him up thinking their kind of taste was acceptable. I honestly was pissing myself.

Bomper · 08/03/2007 16:29

That was so funny wasn't it? When they were looking at the roof terrace and were saying 'Oh, we could get a band up here, and make loads of noise!!' , and 'I'd rip all this out and put up mirror tiles and a bar'!!! PMSL, when Catherine said 'The buyer has her own 'unique' taste!!

JustIvor · 09/03/2007 08:26

I'm so glad to find this thread as I'm dying to know how they made their money and I didn't see the beginning of the show. Can anyone tell me? Once I saw a bit, I have to confess that I made several phone calls to tell others to put it on, even if just for a minute or two. I was busy so I taped the rest of the show and hope to watch it later. TIA

nogoes · 09/03/2007 08:29

Omg! I have never seen anyone like her on there before. . She was so comical that I was wondering whether it was a piss-take for comic relief!

GRUMPYGIRL · 09/03/2007 11:42

Oh good it wasnt just me!! I wondered if they won the lottery as they had that "didnt have much money and have not gone completely BLING" style.

I did wonder if they were trying to wind up the ultra conservative Catherine but they seemed to have strange fluffy red things in the living room of the house they were moving OUT of so I assume it was genuine.

I know the sun isn't good for your skin but can it really be healthy to turn yourself that colour with chemicals?

In comparison - todays couple, who wanted to move to Somerset, were lovely.

Bumping this to see if anyone knows how they made their money. I'm kicking myself for not paying attention at the beginning but I only have the tv on as background noise whilst I do housework. Natch.

GRUMPYGIRL · 11/03/2007 20:38

oh i loved wacthing this, they wanted to astro turf the garden

CODalmighty · 11/03/2007 21:16

so NO ONE saw the beginnign or the end?

onlyjoking9329 · 11/03/2007 21:19

i didn't see the beginning but saw most of it, they said they didn't want to keep any country features as any country features should be outside. there was a thread on this whilst it was on, we were all amazed be her tackyness

GRUMPYGIRL · 11/03/2007 21:20

Oh yes id forgotten the astro turf, they said that in the lovely garden so the lad could play cricket!!

Jeez if you can afford the house, the swimming pool and the orange tan...not to mention the tasteless "bling" jewellery...one would assume they could afford a gardener.

Yeah but were you impressed with my first ever link?

JustIvor · 11/03/2007 21:44

I saw the end but don't think I can remember a great deal. I do have the last part of it on tape and plan to watch it with dh and the kids. After looking on google just now I've discovered that the lady with sunglasses on the top of her head was married to the chap, the boy was their son and the other woman was her sister. They said towards the end that they might well put an offer in for one property but wanted to do some research on selling prices in the area first. They then decided not to as it was either too big or small or something so their search continues. What I really want to know is how they can afford that sort of place. I know people who live in Port Talbot and no doubt it has been in the local newspaper so I'll have to find out.

GRUMPYGIRL · 11/03/2007 21:44

LOL...very impressed, took me a real long time to suss it out as I kept ending with / rather than \
