Who's watching it tonight? I adored the last series, it was so incredibly well written. What are people's predictions of what will happen to them? Who will Adam end up with? Will Hannah become an actual writer or will Marnie become an actual singer?

That scene in the diner I really wished the writers of satc and done the same with Carrie and Big I hated how they ended up
Together.

feckingexhausted · 15/04/2017 00:25

So few of my friends watch this. I think it is one of the best shows I have ever seen. Series 6 is just so brilliantly written and produced.

Jcee · 15/04/2017 17:48

I'm absolutely loving this series - so many amazing scenes and such great writing! Loved that Ray got his ending...adored his character! Don't know what I'm going to watch when this ends next week...its the highlight of my week!

EachandEveryone · 15/04/2017 20:33

Me neither.

RozTheSchnoz · 17/04/2017 09:36

So they changed the day? Just found the last episode on my planner, presumably from last night. Anyone else watched it yet?

RozTheSchnoz · 17/04/2017 09:44

Loved last week's episode. Found tonight's a little disappointing - wish they'd ended it last week. Won't say anymore until others have seen it..

SloanePeterson · 17/04/2017 12:06

Thanks for the heads up, I just snuck away to watch in peace. Totally agree, I think it should have ended on a high with last weeks episode which was just superb. I felt quite disappointed with the ending. That might change once I've had time to think about it.

MrsJamin · 17/04/2017 12:50

For fear of being accused of spoiling it again Hmm I'll say nothing as I've seen the last episode too. For the penultimate episode I thought it was brilliant and shosh nailed it in the bathroom speech. The resolution between jessa and hannah made me cry!

Just put it on. My eyebrows are raised!

IndigoApple · 17/04/2017 18:58

I'm also disappointed Sad. Also sorry that it was on my planner already so I've watched it now instead of later!

Gallavich · 17/04/2017 19:02

(Not a spoiler)
Didn't the baby look Afro-carribean rather than 1/4 Asian?

HonorBright · 17/04/2017 22:39

Didn't the baby look Afro-carribean rather than 1/4 Asian?

Hmm

WTF?

EachandEveryone · 17/04/2017 23:24

Grover?!!!! It was disappointing wasnt it? I didnt really get the point.

And yes the baby was alot differebt to what i magined he would be like i dont get the Hmm

HonorBright · 17/04/2017 23:36

And yes the baby was alot differebt to what i magined he would be like i dont get the Hmm

OK.

Firstly, 'African-Caribbean' is the preferred term. 'Afro-Caribbean' is very 1976.

Secondly, if we're going to talk fractions of heritage (ugh), why would Grover be 1/4 Asian? Riz Ahmed is British-Pakistani. We aren't told Paul-Louis's racial heritage (unless I've forgotten something from episode 1).

Finally - are we really analysing the colour of a baby's skin and assessing whether it is either too brown or not brown enough?

EachandEveryone · 17/04/2017 23:48

I dont think we were splitting hairs but as i work with babies day in day out i personally was surprised by this baby. It doesn't matter to me but i did do a double take and i wont be made to feel bad about that.

As for the ending, it shouldve ended the week before.

Gallavich · 18/04/2017 00:00

Oh come on
I'm the parent of a mixed race child, I'm not being a twat for no reason. The baby did not appear to be the genetic offspring of those two parents. (I mean I know he wasn't actually their offspring, but their offspring would not have looked like that)
Thanks for advising me about Afro-Caribbean though, I didn't know that and I will change my language in future.

feckingexhausted · 18/04/2017 00:30

I thought he looked too big.

Wonder if the last episode was meant to be underwhelming. I wanted to see Hannah try to cope without Marnie being there.

HonorBright · 18/04/2017 07:55

He was definitely too big. I think he was meant to be 6-8 weeks but I'd have put that baby at 12-16 weeks, even if he was 10lb at birth!

boilingkettle · 18/04/2017 08:01

Last week's episode was SO good that the finale had a really hard job living up to it. I liked the fact that it showed Hannah having the difficulties many new mums encounter - difficult latch, babies seeming to prefer another person, the weirdness of the vag/arse area post-birth, and the frustration that no one told you what it was going to be like. I remember that feeling so well. Up to now, Hannah's decision to have the baby was all a bit vague, hearts and flowers, someone to love her etc. And she was credited for being mature for going ahead with the pregnancy and sorting her life out (a bit). The last episode showed the old immature Hannah come back, work it out, and come back to deal with her responsibilities.
Her mum was brilliant as usual.
Marnie hasn't learnt a thing. Eurgh.
And the baby is Grover because that's the name Paul-Louis suggested, which has a whole other discussion as to why Hannah would have gone with that and her hopes for his involvement in the future.
I thought it was a fitting end really. But yeah, penultimate episode was AMAZING!!!!

Middleoftheroad · 18/04/2017 10:23

Agree that it should have ended last week.
Also wondered why she gave him PL's preferred name.
I feel underwhelmed, but I love Hannah's mom.
I need a new series now.

NecklessMumster · 18/04/2017 10:39

I thought it was great. I loved the end where he latches on and she sings to him, it's like she finally has to give way to someone else's needs and she just gets on with it, after seeing the bratty behavior of the teenage girl. And I thought Marnie redeemed herself too. Agree the mum was great. I could watch the whole series from the start again.

RicketyCricket · 18/04/2017 11:35

I thought it was a real wet fart of an episode and we didn't need it at all. Episode 9 should've been the finale.

I think they were trying so hard to avoid the typical sitcom ending that they overthought it and ended up with a really meh episode.

Still bloody love the show and have started rewatching it again already. Jessa is so ridiculously beautiful at the start Shock.

EachandEveryone · 18/04/2017 12:57

Yes have you seem her sisters on real life? All stunning and all look like they could be in Girls. I really dont think there was alot of acting going on at the start as they were like that anyway.

Figgygal · 18/04/2017 20:26

Wish it had finished last week

Lena Dunham seemed to use it as a last opportunity to take all of her clothes off and it seemed all very self indulgent

snoopyokay · 18/04/2017 20:45

I didn't think much of the last episode either would have been much better to finish on last weeks! Also would have punched Marnie in the face for going on about breastfeeding!
