Can't bloody remember what it was called now, the one where he was in a coma after a road accident, and came out of the coma and his behaviour was completely different and inappropriate! He was hilarious as that character. Also quite moving too though.

I'm not a Dr. Who fan, so don't watch that, and haven't seen DT in anything else, but he was bloody good in that last night. I though he and Sarah Parish were a good combination.

it was good but quite sad

expatinscotland · 26/02/2007 12:51

No. I cannot watch him, particularly when he is sporting facial hair.

Yuk, yuk, yuk.

expatinscotland · 26/02/2007 12:51

Did he die?

myturn · 26/02/2007 12:51

Absolutely fantastic. Sarah Parish was so good too - I was howling most of the way through Felt very violent towards his parents....

boredwithwaitingforminiMOSSY · 26/02/2007 12:52

Oh I wanted to watch that but had a bout of "morning" sickness (at 36 weeks. In the evening. But I'll save that for a different thread!) so does anyone know if and when it's repeated I really, really wanted to see it!!!!

MummyPenguin · 26/02/2007 12:56

Oh God, his parents were awful! They were horrible to Tricia. Would they have coped any better? (Here I go, getting telly and RL confused again!)

Agree with expat - didn't like the beard!

I really enjoyed that, and thought the acting was brilliant. I love that song 'you do something to me' too.

Balls, I forgot it was on. Does anyone know if it is gonna be on BBC3 or similar?

myturn · 26/02/2007 12:58

Oh that song...

southeastastra · 26/02/2007 13:04

it was called Recovery, had a quick look on the bbc site and can't see it being repeated (at least not this week) will keep my eyes open!

mateychops · 26/02/2007 13:19

It was brilliant, been thinking about it a lot today.

Fenella1 · 26/02/2007 13:21

EPIS - oh how I thought of you because he was semi-naked at one stage and had a mental image of you having the boak.

(Tis Fimbo btw)

prettybird · 26/02/2007 13:30

I thought it was very good. Dh wasn't sure I should watch it, as my mother has been in intensive case in India for the last 10 days, with pelvic and head injuries following a fall from her [push]bike , but in the event, the ending was more positive than I had been led to beleive in the previews.

(and everyone has reassured my Dad, who is himself a doctor, so they won't be pulling punches, that the effects of my mum's head injuries should resolve within about 6 months - and so far, her progress as been as expected)

Pass the bucket, Fenella, just the thought of that man with no clothes on is revolting.

ja9 · 26/02/2007 14:19

i had to switch over

just too hard to watch for me. love dramas and the cast but couldn't cope. i read myself into those situations too much.

watched bridget jones instead!

prettybird · 26/02/2007 14:20

I didn't get that impression batters. I thought that Tricia had had to make the trnasisiotn to learingin to like/look after (but not necessarily love) this new person, who was never quite going to be the man he was before. Her acting was excellemnt - her waitng to get away from it all and her since of loss for her soulmate - but then her accpetance of the reality that he wasn't ging to come back - but that she WAS going to stay with him.

I got the impression he had more in common with his youngest son now - since he was part child himself

fairyfly · 26/02/2007 14:41

Loved the beard, love all beards, i have a newly found beard fettish.

nailpolish · 26/02/2007 14:42

i thought it was rubbish

where was the help she would be more than entitled to?

why did he leave hospital so suddenly/early?

the ending was crap - like everything was going to be ok

Unrealistic IME

hannahsaunt · 26/02/2007 14:43

Didn't see it (dh watching the David Kelley conspiracy thing) but did hear Sheena Macdonald and her husband discussing it last week on the radio. He found it terribly difficult to watch as it was so accurate, reflecting what they had experienced after she was knocked over by a car. Apparently she kept pausing and asking was I like that, did that happen etc as she has no memory of the accident or the time following but he remembers it all in vivid detail. Glad to hear it was so good.

prettybird · 26/02/2007 14:55

(ja9 - not so good - see the other thread I jsut started )

expatinscotland · 26/02/2007 15:04

Yuk. He's a walking carpet.

moosh · 26/02/2007 16:13

The first bit had me falling asleep, the bit where he was in hospital. But the rest was really good I thought.
I watch Dr Who all the time and I wouldn't have looked at him as "Dr Who". You know some actors act in different programmes but they are still so similar to a character they have acted in another programme. Well he didn't, thought he was great.
Hated the facial hair tghough. He had more facial hair than face!!!!
