Last night I watched the 'Stephan King' episode; oh how Sweet were Erica and Geoff? Barry in the Audrey 2 suit and as for Adam crawling up the stairs a la misery. Grin
I know it has faults, but it is the only program that is making me laugh at the moment.

just so funny

i love the halloween party - bev's handbag :)

It's very similar to The Wonder Years (why is this never shown on TV?

I think it's to do with with licensing rights on the music used in the show. Every song from the mid 60s to mid 70s was probably used at some point.

I've just thought that if they were making the Wonder Years today it would be set in 1997 Shock When that came out in 1988 the 60s might as well have been the 1860s to 11 year old me.

I love the one with big orange ( the t shirt ) where Lainey and Beverley gang up on barry to get rid of the shirt Grin might have to watch some episodes now! I hope they keep it going as long as big bang theory, only on series 4 so still could go some more Smile

MyWhatICallNameChange · 29/01/2017 22:52

I love that episode! It reminded me of my brother who had a hideous shirt that he wore for a couple of years, even wore the tatty old thing to our mums special birthday party!

MrsJayy · 29/01/2017 22:57

Big orange episode is my favourite episode it is very funny . We love the Goldbergs Bev smothering is outstanding

HalfShellHero · 29/01/2017 23:05

The goldbergs is all of our families favourite show, i didnt realise the origins of the adam goldberg ...i thought it was odd Grin my first 2 episodes were ferris bueller and when murray looses adam at baseball and is asking the staff to help find him "well he has hair glasses ...a face" Grin

I love it. I love the Beverley character - I can just imagine what she must have been like in real life. I even call my DC shmoopie now!

We love it. I think the gym teacher is funny as well.

Erica is based on Adam's brother Eric. When my dcs are upset about something at school I ask them if they want me to do a Beverley. She says that if anyone hurts her babies she will hurt them ten fold! It always makes them laugh. My favourite is when she gets the tee shirts printed and says loudly 'I made these humans with my body.' I love that Pops usually has a martini in his hand. The knight rider episode was fab.

RockyBird · 12/02/2017 17:16

I love it. All our family does.

Anyone else think Beverley is the double of Penny and Barry is very like Leonard from The Big Bang Theory?

Madbengalmum · 12/02/2017 17:19

It is just brilliant. And the kids have the gadgets, toys, issues I had at that time in the eighties. Genius.

MummaGiles · 12/02/2017 17:22

Yes!! The Goldbergs is brilliant. Even DH, who is a bit cynical about shows like that, loves it. It could be an absolute train wreck but it is done brilliantly.

nicetoseeyoutoseeyounice · 12/02/2017 17:33

I love this program. I actually called my daughter shmoo this morning!! Beverlys lingo is rubbing off on me. Fun fact, the actress who plays Erica was on X factor USA. Which is probably why she has a lot of singing parts through out the series. I think Barry is my favourite. His run Grin

This is a good page

I've just started watching this on E4 recently, I've seen a few episodes of season 1 and a few of season 4, but one thing's confusing me - is Adam growing up faster than Barry and Erica? Like catching them up?

Season 1, he's what, 11? And one episode has Erica doing her SATs and talking about college applications.

And then series 4, he's much bigger, seems to be a freshman in high school (14? 15?) - but Erica is still in high school too? What's going on?

Bluesue26 · 08/03/2017 17:59

I love this programme. I bet the out takes from it are fantastic. I love it when Murray calls robots "robits". Barry steals the show for me. As much as I love Bev, I can cry laughing at Barry. The one where he made those clay heads of Lainey was hilarious.

Sherlock35 · 08/03/2017 18:00

I bloody love it. It makes me hysterical on a regular basis
