I am slightly confused at this point.

Just watched ep 8. Arduous viewing.
Is there going to be a season 3 then? Not sure i could cope!

Did anyone else find the whole baby eating scene the most upsetting thing ever on tv (apart from the news)? I just can't get it out of my head even after a day at work.

Yes, what on earth was that all about?!
And the implication that it was Elena's and Dan's baby (even if just in his hallucinations)?
I also found Elena's death distressing to watch - v drawn out and just too darn realistic.

I think I need more mindless escapist entertainment in my life; certainly not the news.

I watched the first series, which started out well. Such a different setting, which was intriguing and atmospheric, and lots of mysteries going on. I thought it was going to be a Scandi crime drama type thing, and it certainly gave that impression to begin with. Some great actors too, and the characters were interesting. Then it all gradually became weirder and weirder (and I say that as someone who likes Sci-Fi and Fantasy a lot). The writers piled one unlikely idea on top of another, and it all got a bit out-of-control.

Just watched series 2, episode one. Most of the characters from last season have disappeared or been eaten by wasps, and frankly it was all a load of bollocks. I just don't care what happens next, so I'm out.

Anyone still watching? I've got to the end and have no one to discuss it with!

Don't want to post any spoilers but I did find the last episode confusing, if anyone understood it all an wanted to PM me....

When Hildur was talking to Dan about her teeny little lights I felt so sad. She loved that shitty little town but they are all completely unprepared for the level of disaster that happens.

I'm still enjoying the scenery and have watched it through now. I have a few questions:

1. Where did the shaman appear from and how come Dennis Quaid's wife knew him?
2. Did their daughter, the police woman know him too and is that why she freaked out so much at her mum cooking lutefisk? I think I must have dozed off during an important bit.

I fairly certain we haven't seen him before (though what with the darkness & snow flurries - who knows?) Maybe she knew him from the town/school & he moved away. Not surprised she offered him something to eat, she seems to spend all her time cooking.

As for the lutefisk, well it sounds bloody revolting, I've just looked it up.

What's with Stott and the BarMan?

They knew each other, as were all in with the bad guy corporation. The bar man killed the supermarket check out girl as she was hacking information from them - she was the one who sold on the red crab info - and made it look like she was killed by the shaman.

I'm loving this. I'm watching on now tv and up to season 2 episode 8. Dong want to spoil as don't know where uk is up to.

Don't know how much more gruesomeness I can take given the lack of actual plot. We will watch the last one cos we've come this far but seriously WTF!?

Binge watched s1&2 in a week, finished s2 finale y/day.

What. The. Fuck.

Bizarre show, it had me hooked but not sure why; the level of gore was unbelievable and that shower scene

Loved Vincent and Natalie's characters, and Petra. Dan was weird as fuck in this s2 and the 'embrace' between him and Elena was really hard to watch. Still not sure why he's gone batshit - presumably as he was infected by parasite (did we actually see that or is it inferred) - he basically purged it out of himself right? But didn't get the whole lot?

Scene with Monk and Hildur was brilliant, and the way that panned out.

And the scenes. Oh god the scenery. When DS is a bit older he's going to stay with Nana whilst me and DP finally fuck off to Iceland

I'm a bit behind (have just watched S2 E3) but am marking my place so I can come on here and discuss it when I've caught up.

I have been, but am struggling to work out what the hell is going on and I've started to lose interest a bit, despite loving the first series.
