I watched this with the sound off because I was chatting to a friend on the phone. Looked pants. I used to love Silent Witness but I just really can't be bothered any more. You are pathologists ffs NOT detectives!!!!

Eva kidnapped Nicky because she knew Jack would do anything to rescue her - and via the dodgy priest she had made a deal that she would get her son back if the tattoo guy was released. Then she phoned Jack pretending to be "The Cartel" and got him to do her dirty work. She was, I assume, on her way to release Nicky when she was shot. She knew Nicky wouldn't die in the coffin as it was ventilated.

It was a boring episode I thought and disappointing. The bit at the end when she was wafting around on the beach And I agree with a pp who said away-day episodes of any show are always a crappy cringe-fest.

That was clear, but I wondered who physically put Nikki in the box, because it was in the place where the son was going the archeological dog.

I assumed it was Eva acting alone.

I found it very funny that the Spanish-speaking Mexicans could not correctly pronounce señor or Herrera or... many other words.
Just not the accents... the basics of a ñ or a double r.

I found it so boring, I have completely forgotten the end and so has DH!!! I thought I had fallen asleep but don't think I did. I couldn't take Eva was it? seriously , as she was in Teachers with Andrew Lincoln back in the day.

Well I was a bit meh about the finale but I did have a filthy dream about Jack afterwards so there were some bonuses.
It is a ridiculous series with pathologists doing all the detective work and running around solving crimes willy nilly but I still don't seem able to stop watching .
I need to catch up on Unforgotten though thanks to the previous poster who just reminded me

Let me try and salvage some dignity here.

Doing an archaeological dig is what I was aiming for.

I was getting seriously pissed off that Nicky knew (or thought she did) that oxygen was limited and that talking, and especially screaming, would use it up more quickly - yet she spent ages talking to herself interspersed with screeching.

I must admit that I wasn't playing close attention so I didn't understand the beginning-Nicky dreamt it/was having nightmares & seeing the tattooed guy shoot Luisa?

Wasn't she Baxter in Downton Abbey as well? I kept expecting her to speak with a northern accent not a crappy faux Mexican one.

Not been able to take Silent Witness seriously since French and Saunders did a sketch entitled Witless Silence which was a huge piss take of the Amanda Burton days. Very funny.

What I don't understand is how 30 people stayed alive for so many days underground when Nikki oxygen was supposed to run out in hours. Louisa had been missing for days.
And if they were burried in as shallow a grave as it showed, then why didn't 30 people just try to push themselves out like Nikki did?

I thought it was a bit far fetched that Luisa was still alive, I mean why? Who gave her birthday day ti the Dad and said this is Luisa. Who was being threatened/blackmailed in order to justify keeping the prisoners? Weren't the group taken before tattoo man locked up?

I too found the accents ridiculously off putting.

Is it me or did anyone else find it really sad (and unbelievable!) that the people Nicky was thinking about as her life was seemingly ebbing away were all work colleagues!! Yes I know they are 'family ' but perhaps she needs to get a hobby or a cat at least?

It was absolutely dire. We don't get many episodes - what a waste.
