WTF! Scary.....

I thought it had some strengths as a drama, just wasn't anything that should have been a Sherlock series. It completely missed the whole idea that following psychopaths is a bad idea, and John/Sherlock and even Mycroft would have most likely used the gun to shoot up the place and ensure the governor survived.

And the girl on the plane looked like a dream/vision from the start, with all the people being so neatly asleep.

Basically Moffat is clearly really really annoyed he didn't get asked to write any of the Marvel superhero films...

I've only juste watched it on iPlayer - and I loved it! But then I am a massive fan of Stephen King - maybe that's why.

i loved it - i loved the use of language and think Cumberbatch is a great actor, although they hammed it up quite a bit! That said, I feel they humanized Sherlock too much, and Mycroft for that matter, it all got a bit too emotional for me and that doesn't fit with how he is in the earlier series, at least to me. Was properly terrifying though! I found the scenes with the gorgeous lovely setter distressing, and the little boy.

Just watched it and it was silly. They never explained exactly where the well was and why Sherlock hadn't found it as a child if it was smewhere wee sister had access to and the song numbers waving arms about thing made no sense.
It also made no sense him wanting to save a maybe exists maybe doesn't girl he'd never met and plane of people who may or may not exist over his best friend and brother. After all the world is overpopulated and most of us choose to save the people we care about who exist in "our" world. It was always obvious the plane girl may have been imaginary.
The Mary bit was sentimental shite but anything to do with Mary became sentimental rapidly. Moffat seems to like to combine overly complex plots "solved" in a confusing sentence with OTT sentimentality.
I like Moriarty.

As a psychological thriller, it was okay.

As an episode of Sherlock, it was a huge disappointment.

I would have loved it if Sherlock had deduced that because of the way the little girl described the plane / the colour of the seats / the cabin crew's uniform / the fact she said she was coming back from holiday / the weather / the flight path etc etc that there was no such flight that fitted its description, therefore it must be Eurus messing with him then have him switching off all the mics and monitors and strolling off with John to solve a proper puzzle.

i thought it was consistent with sherlock's inability to connect with emotion that he'd put a plane full of strangers on a par with his brother - i thought they'd made him too human by the end of it really.
