Thinking how fit and well he looks here. And his voice is great!

Thanks for the heads up. I'm watching it now. I had forgotten just how good he was live. Wow, just wow.

What a loss to the music industry.

That was short! I was marvelling at Dita's boobs and then it was over. Good night my dear friend George, I will miss you x

Jellykat · 27/12/2016 23:03

He was gorgeous looking, but apparently thought of himself as unattractive..

I could've watched more for sure, might have to go to You Tube for a bit!

This is an interesting BBC documentary made about him in 1990. Fascinating interviews about what were the inspirations for his songs and lots of concert footage.

Hard to believe this was just four years ago. He looked and sounded wonderful.

The person above who wrote 'pure class' was spot on.

Graphista · 27/12/2016 23:51

Regarding his not knowing how gorgeous he was, I think in his head he was still the fat, spotty, bespectacled kid nobody wanted to slow dance with of his early teens. I think a lot of people can relate to being unable to see change in ourselves.

gingerhobo48 · 27/12/2016 23:56

Yes, pure class. Wouldn't say I was a fan but such a beautiful, almost effortless voice. My mum was 53 when she died so think this is why it has affected me like this. such an incredible shame, I am so sad for his family, kenny, his friends and his fans. His charitable acts have also made me cry.

wideboy26 · 28/12/2016 08:26

For those who regret having missed the concert, it's on iPlayer. I unwound to it on iPlayer last night after a long drive home. I wouldn't call myself a fan either but there's no denying how good he was and I really enjoyed his version of Roxanne.

"but such a beautiful, almost effortless voice"

That's it exactly. He made it look and sound so easy to sing so beautifully.

PolaDeVeboise · 29/12/2016 12:32

I know this sounds pathetic, but I couldn't watch it. I'm still in denial.

Graphista · 29/12/2016 17:43

Apparently there's going to be a whole evening dedicated to George on bbc 4 tomorrow

Blondeshavemorefun · 29/12/2016 17:54

Have on planner

Can't find the bbc4 tribute for tomorrow?

Graphista · 29/12/2016 18:37

I think online TV guides are very slow to catch up to this stuff but it was on radio times online
