I'm loving this thread! I always thought I was the only closet H&A fan out there - secretly I even want to live in Summer Bay, in spite of their alarmingly high crime and natural disaster rate.

It started filming in 1988!... I'm not sure when it came on tv over here, but I don't think it was much later than that as I definately watched it when I lived at home...

One interesting fact I have jsut learnt is that we are now only 11 weeks behind the show in Aus.. (was around 50 weeks at one point)...

Dh has even become interested in the goings on in Summer Bay due to my avid watching, although he still laughs when I cry because something sad has happened!

And i want to live there too, Plibble! If for no other reason than the amount of time that Sally and Leah get off from mothering! I could go out for a meal, a drink, my child would never be ill causing last minute childcare/work crises...Ok, he might get kidnapped by a mad cult leader...

Does anyone else count the number of times the words, "I have to leave Summer Bay" get uttered each weeks? I'm surprised there's anyone but Alf, Irene and Sally left in Summer Bay! The story lines are ridiculous and predictable but I still find myself on a Sunday watching all the episodes I recorded during the week.

She may have reverted to men, but she definitely had a fling with a woman at one point 2shoes!

Thanks 3 but I prefer recording each episode. That way I can watch the odd episode if I get the chance during the week and if by some fluke I miss recording an episode (this week I ended up taping a football game for some reason)then I have a second chance with the Omnibus.

I am a closet H&A away watcher too...I come from Oz and sometimes just have to get my fix of the sunny weather and Aussie accents.

I've been watching it on and off since in started in Oz back in '88, wow do I feel old now!
