On Channel 4. Apparently Richard O'brien and Stephen Merchant are hosting.

I hope they don't make the show crap.

Why didn't Rio do a physical? Why is Steven merchant so repellant to me, he Gives me the chills. I loved this as a kid.

Anyone know why Richard O'Brien isn't doing it? Stephen Merchant is ok, but the Crystal Maze isn't the same without Richard...

He's 74 years old, so perhaps too old? Liked the cameo though!

Quite enjoyed that. Without Josh Widdecombe they would have been completely stuffed though.

We have done a few escape rooms recently and they are much more difficult than this. Although they don't really have physical challenges

My only issue was that Stephen Merchant seemed like he couldn't decide weather to go his own way or to try and play Richard O'brein. It was a weird half mix of Tribute act and Coverband.

I really enjoyed it - Stephen Merchant was the main entertainment & without him I think it would have been dire. Especially if Richard obrien didn't want to/couldn't do it.

The celebs were all a bit thick though, with the exception of Josh. And that is even with the dumbed down tests.

I don't think you can be locked in when you do it for real, other teams of people use the zone behind you, you just loose a crystal.

The set was a lot smaller wasn't it, you could see the top of the building a lot of the time, the original show's set was massive.

The original set was in an old aircraft hanger, was massive and all exactly as it looked on screen. They shuffled the contestants back into a room with blacked out windows between games so you couldn't get a sneak peek! (I was a contestant in the Richard O'Brien years )

Love Richard Ayoade on Travel Man and Gadget Man, hope he's as good on this.
