Well if you remember these, you must remember Robinson Crusoe too!! Loved the clip from Double Deckers - was it so long ago

Ah Follyfoot, wonderful!

Nasty girl with ringlets in 'Little house on the prairie' was Nellie Olsen and her little brother was called Willie. It was ok Kbear because she always got her come-uppance in the end .

More memories from me - Catweazle (weirdo), Children of the Stones (bit later that one) and The Changes (oooer).

ha ha Pixel - yeah, horrible Nelly Olsen. Didn't Half Pint marry Willy Olsen in the end?

What about..... THE TOMORROW PEOPLE ... and that hand at the beginning!

I loved White Horses and Belle and Sebastian - makes me think of cosy winter afternoons after school, when the worries were all someone elses.

Furball · 08/02/2007 21:25

I remember white horses - wasn't someone called hugo?

Also remember a boy with a dog called bella - does anyone know what that was?

theheadgirl · 08/02/2007 22:25

OOooh I LOVED this! It reminds me too of the summmer holidays. Along with the "double deckers"
....get on board, get on board....
Does anyone else remember that?

I remember White Horses, my older sisters used to put baler twine (farm kids) around my upper chest, hold on to the two ends behind me and make me "gallop" around the yard. They got a real pony soon after

Furball, that was Belle and Sebastian, I think you're thinking of (the pop group took their name from the TV show).

Thanks for that link - I LOVED White Horses, the theme tune made me want to cry too - something really yearning about it! Never really got into the show itself, I was a bit young and found the fact you could hear the original German underneath the dubbed English voices a bit weird - similarly with the Singing Ringing Tree (I always remember the princess shrieking "Hilfe! Hilfe!" over the narrator going 'help! help!' in a weedy librarian type voice...didn't really work for me!

White Horses and Follyfoot (my OH finds the theme tune to that deeply scary - strange man...) both fuelled my obsession with horses, despite growing up in an urban area with no riding school for miles around. I used to make jumps in the back garden out of buckets and brooms and force my little sister into taking part in gymkhanas with me... sadly no-one bought me a pony (despite my pleas that we could keep it in the garden wash-house) and so I had to wait until my 30's before I became a horse-owner - I'm now no longer romantic about horses (you can't be, really, not after you've mucked them out, groomed their unmentionables and kicked - sorry, 'persuaded' - their lazy @rses around Epping Forest in the pouring rain!) but I still love them...

Apparently white horses are more susceptible to skin cancer though I've known a few die that way and it rather put me off buying one, even though t'was my childhood dream (my boy's a (very) dumb blond chestnut ).
