Although I would've liked to have seen Christine walk into the Vic with head held high and Pam by her side. Les and Pam had a lot more they could give. I think getting rid of both of them was a mistake really. Pam's sister could've put in some more appearances too. Felt like she would've been a good character to have around.

The80sweregreat · 15/10/2016 18:00

They might come back. They were different. Pam is a brillient actress.
Have to keep the faith!

Jasonandyawegunorts · 15/10/2016 18:03

Could poor les have an off screen heart attack in Worthing?

No no no, if Les has a heart attack it has to be on screen, his heart attack face would be brilliant.

NuggetofPurestGreen · 15/10/2016 18:05

Did they get the sack or did the actors want to leave does anyone know?

Jasonandyawegunorts · 15/10/2016 18:11

They're contracts weren't renewed this year, so not really the sack but also not by choice.

Jasonandyawegunorts · 15/10/2016 18:14

I read an interview with the person who played Pam says she was sad but pleased with the 2 years she did, she was originally only given a 6 month contract.

Jasonandyawegunorts · 15/10/2016 18:16

Actually i've found the quote, it was a three month contract.
I came in on a three-month contract and stayed two-and-a-half years, so I was lucky.

EnidButton · 15/10/2016 18:17

I think we saw Les' heart attack face everytime he was on screen.

The80sweregreat · 15/10/2016 18:46

Yes, les had more faces than judge rinder doing Strictly.
He actually looked liked a funeral director!
Loved Pam so much.. Rather her than creepy Babe.
Will miss them. I bet Billy runs the business into the ground..no pun intended. He isnt the man for the job imo. Too flaky. Honey's face when he asked her to do the laying out job..!

dingdongdigeridoo · 15/10/2016 19:33

I think Bradley worked in finance or accounting. It's realistic that someone in East London would commute! After getting sacked he could have easily found another similar role, but instead became a market inspector.

I understand with the older generation that they'd work close to where they live, since many of them are business owners. But there's no reason the 20 somethings can't look for jobs more than 10 seconds from their door. It's lazy writing.

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/10/2016 14:16

Think you are all right. Les will have a heart attack. Pills are mentioned - always a bad sign

Pan may come back

Yes Peter is the father of Lauren's baby but Stephen is 'being dad' it's nurture not nature and may be dad by blood but not if not there

Thought Pam was good at Sharon's

Yes very rare for someone to work out of the square

Is Lee going out of it? Must be lying about the job as no way he would get one

Is it the same in Corrie? Don't watch it

Almost felt sorry for babes. But didn't

OP posts:
NuggetofPurestGreen · 16/10/2016 14:49

Corrie is exactly the same Blondes new person moves to Street and immediately gets job at factory/pub/restaurant/garage. Or someone gets fired from factory and immediately gets job at pub or shop or something.

celeste83 · 16/10/2016 14:52

I loved Pam's last stand off with Babe. Laughing at her pathetic life.

I'm glad Lauren is taking a stand on Louie's father title. I do wonder if that story will go anywhere, especially as Steven is figuring out that Lauren perhaps does not love him.

And when will the bin story come to a head, and who will spearhead the rebellion?

Florathefern · 16/10/2016 18:40

I know why people are complaining that nobody works outside the square or Corrie but the whole point of the show is people's interactions and relationships. .That is why there is usually more than just a family in a house, why the launderette still exists, why the pubs serve food, why there is a street market etc. It wouldn't be very entertaining if everyone was a commuter and the show showed them queuing at the tube station every morning!

celeste83 · 16/10/2016 18:50

I dunno some scenes on the tube could be quite good actually Grin Talking of transport you never see the bus anymore. Has Turpin Road lost its bus route? Grin

The80sweregreat · 16/10/2016 18:51

Flora, when it started in 85, the paramedic and his yuppie wife worked out the square! Its true though, there wouldnt be a soap if they all went to work up town! Tricky one for the writers, unless they move a bank or office near the vic. They could i suppose. Cokers is close by, maybe lee could work there if the other job is fake!
Or open a big supermarket!

Jasonandyawegunorts · 16/10/2016 19:17

I dunno some scenes on the tube could be quite good actually

That would actually be too hard to do, Aldwych tube station is used for Television and movie filming becuase it's unused, they coudl do all the filming there at once.

Akire · 16/10/2016 20:55

It just adds more depth if handful of them had other jobs. So abi at vets works still in loads of scenes, when Whitney worked at school was good because had link with kid stories.

Jasonandyawegunorts · 16/10/2016 21:00

wouldn't be too hard to do

Florathefern · 16/10/2016 22:20

I understand why it would add more depth but tbh there isn't much realism in the show anyway. It is like when they are all sitting around a table, crowded together at one end while the other end is empty (but is obviously where the camera men are shooting from). I think if I thought about soaps being 'real', we would find holes in every scene :).

EnidButton · 16/10/2016 22:34

I've never thought of that before Flora. Going to notice that everytime now. Like Ian's impossible room space.

dingdongdigeridoo · 16/10/2016 23:16

I remember Ronnie giving birth on the tube. The video backdrop they used was terrible!

They don't have to show people commuting everyday. There's just got to be a middle ground between everyone sitting in the caff every weekday morning, and people never being home because they're working outside the square.

MrsJayy · 16/10/2016 23:37

Just seen Fridays will miss Pam she should have stayed and looked after Jay &Ben . Claudette is such a bitch sniping about our pam knew she lapped up the Christine thing. Honeys face when Billy asked her to do up the deceased Grin she would just throw a bow at their head and run out.

Akire · 17/10/2016 00:04

Honey would be great at cokers has a calm and easy manner would work well. Though woulnt fancy hands on aspect myself. She is just wasted in the shop no ambition or anything and seems bright if you don't include being with Billy

Do you think we will be getting lot of new people are they just cutting off few for money resons?

MrsJayy · 17/10/2016 00:11

I hope no new people we might get a few from Jacks flats though. Anybody else get really really creeped out by Steven when he was kissing Lauren on the neck i actually felt repelled he is a creepy fecker .
