Here we are

Tom was good in the last one and won the tekkers so it makes sense that he won it but I'm a bit meh about him

I can't take to Tom at all. I can't put my finger on why.

Actually, I think it's because I don't like he sound of anything he bakes!

Will miss Rav, he is so sweet, and modest too. I do think Andrew actually was the worst baker tonight.

I liked rav as well-I bet he'll be lovely on the extra slice.

Thought Janes cake looked great! The colours were lovely.

Can I just join the thread to ask a question - I thought the showstopper was always the next day, they always say after the technical 'come back tomorrow ......' But tonight it struck me that they were all in the same clothes for the showstopper as for the earlier rounds. Surely after getting all hot and sweaty in the tent they'd have a change of clothes for a new day ?

I enjoyed that episode. Back to the proper do-able technicals and proper showstoppers. I cant take to Tom either. I thought he'd been lucky for a couple of weeks, and then pulled two blinders this week. That pumpkin pie wasn't citrus. I think Rav was the right one to go. I'd have been gutted if it had been Andrew. Hed been good the other weeks, whereas Rav wasn't.

theliverpoolone they have to wear the same clothes all weekend. I'm not sure why but it might be to do with making them easier to recognise through out the ep.

Ease of editing too - they can have the little interviews/comments filmed on either day and slotted in where they best make sense, but changing clothes would make it obvious that they weren't even from the same challenge/day.

It also means that they can use the walk in and panning shots from either day, and Paul and Mary can do their "so-and-so might be in trouble this weekend" clip when they know they definitely are!

I think Jane's cake could have looked good if she hadn't wasted 20 minutes when she had to re-make one of the cakes.

I thought it did look good - I like the abstract look, and her colours were really nice, whereas the others looked primary school garish, even Selasi's, much as people seemed to like his piping.

I twigged something about Tom last night. He doesn't like sweet things v much - all v well, and much healthier than the rest of their taste buds for sure, but not ideal in a show which is essentially about cake!

I wish Jane would stop apologising when shes being judged.

Yes I agree - I really noticed that about Jane last night, and I think it makes them concentrate on remembering the negatives of her stuff, instead of the many many positives.

Lol, Crotchet, I wanna know what primary school you know that pipes cakes like Selasi. I think I might need to move there so DD can get in and make my birthday cakes 😂

I think the editing makes Tom look as if he's always scowling. He's probably not like that in real life.

They were meant to look floral though rather than abstract so Jane's lost marks there.

I hate all of Tom's food.

And I'm not hugely fond of him as a contestant either.

Candice went way up in my estimation as she had a gluten free cake as one of her bakes ! yay maybe Mary and Paul instead of some of the rather ridiculous challenges could have a gluten free bake and wake up to the fact that some of us are gluten free but still love cake!
