Nashville season 4! Who's watching

Just watched ep 1.

Love Rayna and Juliette stuff. I'm sure it won't be long until Juliette is running to her for a confident.

Don't like Scarlett being between the doctor and Gunner. She should just be with the doctor. Gunner is like some Dawson's Creek leftover.

Oh no, that's annoying (although glad the show isn't cancelled altogether).

Why were ABC cancelling though? Are the ratings not good in the US? Which network has picked it up?

So, are there more episodes in the current season or is that it? This week's was ep21 & there are normally 24 in a network season. It did feel like wrapping up a lot of loose ends.

Dropping Luke Wheeler? I love his voice/accent combo.

tasteofcountry.com/why-was-nashville-canceled/

Season 1&4 were 21 episodes and Season 2&3 were 21 episodes.

It's been picked up by CMT (which I've never heard of) apparently will and layla are leaving and Luke is moving to a guest star.

I'm not sorry to see the back of Layla. Shame about Will, but his current storyline was wrapped up 9. I really hope that they haven't killed off Juliet, as I wanted her and Avery to get back together.

Geek Town is predicting that we will see season 5 in summer 2017. I hope it will be on a now tv channel (sky living / atlantic), as I don't have Netflix and don't want to pay for it just for Nashville!

I've still got the final, episode to watch but as I've already watched the trailer for season 5, I can take a good guess how it ends.

I'm quite sad to read hear that Will might not be returning. I think he's fab. I could do without Scarlett. I loved her in S1 but by god she's such a moan now.

Someone mentioned Deacon's top lip. I've not noticed that ( I'll be looking out fir it tonight watched the finale) but I used to think he was quite handsome, in a lived in face sort of way. Now I just see beady little eyes. Might be because Ive noT liked his character this season.

I liked Scarlett earlier on but she is doing my head in now too.

If there are any Americans on here is her accent accurate; it sounds very good to me but since I'm British I've always wondered if that's what the accent really sounds like ( much in the same way as British people are often portrayed with plummy queens English accent)

I loved the season finale. Tears were shed. Glad Maddie is back home with her mum and dad and gorgeous little sister. So happy the show is continuing.

Scarlett and Gunnar make beautiful music. I have a couple of Claire Bowen & Sam Palladino's songs from the Nashville soundtracks on my phone. Whatever trajectory their characters take, I still look forwards to their duets.

Oh I love Scarlett's and gunners music - I was hooked in ep 1 when they sang 'if I didn't know better' - beautiful song. As much as I think Gunner should run a mile from moaning Scarlett's I was cheering when the kissed on stage - just because it pissed of the nasty Autumn.

. Poor Layla. She's never had a break and then she ruins it for herself. I do wonder if just before the penultimate ep, they got news that the season would not be axed after all and got picked up by another network. The reveal of her scheming was really sudden and a bit clumsy.

I also read that there was supposed to have been a reunion between Avery and Juliette. Instead, having her in the plane crash gives a good reason not to have her in S5 (im assuming she's the highest paid cast member and tpthere would need loads of negotiations so she might have been recast might have been out).

I was a bit teary that Maddie was back home. I thought that was lovely.

Now to keep my fingers crossed that sky living pick up the next season.

I hope newer seasons can bring the show back to its roots. I cannot believe how much of a soap opera the show turned into in its most reason series. From swanning off cross-country (and back) in a private jet at a moments notice, to falling in and out of bed with one another, miraculous recoveries and lightening-paced story arcs (if they can be called that...) And there's not a character I find remotely likeable apart from maybe Juliette's baby.

Nope, I still like Scarlett. I can't help it but I do. I can't forget her breakdown live on stage, how she took a brave decision about her Mum when Deacon was busy making it all about him, the way she supports others and her lovely music. She is still a character wirth rooting for, in spite of the moaning.

When is s5 on in U.K?

Report

I don't think we know yet, they are always late to confirm as we don't know which station will pick it up. Most likely not until summer, though I hope I'm wrong. Always seems a massive gap better is and US.

I'm ok with streaming from the US which has been deemed legal by CJEU.

"On 5 June 2014, the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) ruled that streaming illegal content online is legal in Europe"

Report
Surreyblah · 21/01/2017 15:01

It's still piracy and unethical.
