Ooh, when is it starting?! Love this show

MartinRohdesBellybuttonFluff · 22/08/2016 21:01

BBC2 now!Grin

Clawdy · 22/08/2016 22:24

Intriguing opening episode. I want Drake and Rose to be happy though! Want them to have a baby, but I bet they will be bringing up Long Susan's child by the end of the series.

Thanks Youngest that's interesting, one more series after this! Smile

Bloody love this, have since the first second. Jerome Flynn at his very best I'd say.

Dulra · 24/08/2016 21:28

Great article delighted they are getting another 2 series I have watched it from the very first episode. Loved the last series and this one has started well so looking forward to getting into it Smile

Clawdy · 29/08/2016 22:39

Tonight's was gripping.....that scene with David Threlfall was so well -written and disturbing. The Susan rescue was a bit far-fetched but clever!

Love it love it, it's all hidden away on bbc2 when they show shit on all the other channels

Dulra · 30/08/2016 11:28

Another great episode, couldn't work out how he engineered the escape. No idea where this is going but it is good

youngestisapsycho · 30/08/2016 14:51

I'm on episode 4 on Amazon.... It's so good!

VanellopeVonSchweetz99 · 30/08/2016 23:49

Awesome - they're all over acting like hell but it kind of works. I think Matthew Macfadyen has really grown with the part (wasn't too impressed with his acting initially). Sooo ... you reckon Rose & Bennett are going to adopt the little 'golden skinned' baby now?

Clawdy · 31/08/2016 20:30

Never thought of that, Vanellope. Yes, could be - though I still think they may end up as parents for little Connor.

It's getting darker and darker. Tonight's about the workhouse boys was really disturbing and I felt so sorry for Leda.

MitzyLeFrouf · 06/09/2016 15:43

Oh it was dark wasn't it? The scene at the beginning where Tommy died in Reid's arms made me sob a little. And I rarely sob.

Dulra · 06/09/2016 19:39

I missed last night's episode and live in Ireland so can't get bbc iplayer. Anyone know if the episode is repeated at any stage during the week?

youngestisapsycho · 06/09/2016 20:44

Can you get Amazon Prime.... Free 30 day trial. The whole series is on there.

Dulra · 06/09/2016 21:10

Ooh will look into that thanks

wamoh · 06/09/2016 23:23

If anyone's curious, Matilda is working on this: booth.lse.ac.uk/static/a/9_3_1.html

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 07/09/2016 00:19

Thank you. I did wonder what she was doing.

wamoh · 07/09/2016 00:26

I never get to show off my research... then Ripper Street comes back on Grin The casual wards paying money to the Salvation Army is a true story, also.

In other news... what happened to Reid's wife? Did I miss that?

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 07/09/2016 01:08

She died sometime in series 2. Can't remember exactly. She became severely depressed at Matilda's disappearance which was compounded by Reid's infidelity with Deborah. She died before Matilda was found.

BagelGoesWalking · 13/09/2016 14:45

Didn't Reid's wife catch cholera during the Great Stink (or similar event).

Watching most recent episode, to me it doesn't work that Susan is hiding with warehouse owner (stereotypical Fagin type) He would definitely blackmail them for money.

Still love Jackson Smile just the type to have a bit of rough and tumble with!

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 14/09/2016 06:59

Jackson is lovely. I don't like Susan/Caitlin at all.
