I'm low in mood, off work so have plenty of viewing time. I don't want anything too heavy/grim. I've just finished Call the midwife, that's about the level (obviously that's balanced with some sadness but overall is optimistic, unlike say Downtown which I started to dread!). I hate slap stick comedy!

I have Netflix and a ahem cracked fire stick. I've watched quite a bit like OITNB, How to get away with murder, Kimmy, PLL, Orphan Black...any little gems I've missed?

I was looking for something a bit fluffy and stumbled across Mount Pleasant on Now tv. There are 5 series and a new one is now on on Sky something or another. It's basically about a couple and their neighbours, family and friends on a close in Manchester. Quite fun really.

I really like The Detectorists - written and directed by Mackenzie Crook. Funny and touching

Bumping this to say I've watched Jane the virgin. Another one I'd dismissed from the ads but I actually really enjoyed it! Just watching Brooklyn Smile

Offspring on Netflix is great op. Lovely mix of funny, poignant and family saga. I can't wait for the new series to hit UK!

Stranger Things is fab but definitely not "uplifting"

FaithAscending · 31/10/2016 15:13

I don't think I'd cope with Stranger Things. DH can binge watch Walking Dead but can only watch a couple of Stranger Things!

How about Dexter, Cold Feet, Vera?

Following for ideas! I'm finding myself too hormonal for anything dark/scary at the moment so looking for fluff to watch. I'm currently watching those naff yet brilliant Hallmark Christmas movies in the wee hours when DD2 is wide awake.

FaithAscending · 31/10/2016 15:37

I tried Dexter, that was too dark for me! I think I'd probably like Vera. Will add it to my 'to watch list'.

milkshake some of those Hallmark movies are in the 'so bad they're good' category!

I agree re Offspring! Nearly on S4 and have raced through it.
