I've previously not been much of a TV person but the thought of hunkering down with a series / box set is appealing. In the past, I've enjoyed Corrie, Scott and Bailey, Broad church, Bad Girls. Happy to branch out a bit. Definitely don't want horror or anything that takes much concentration.
All suggestions greatly received.

When I had DD1 I watched all of Desperate Housewives. DD2 was The Good Wife.

strawberrypenguin · 19/08/2016 22:08

I'm working my way through West Wing. Never seen it before and I don't know why! I'm loving it. First time round I watched ER.

EndeavourMorse · 19/08/2016 22:22

Call the Midwife and (obviously) Endeavour, Morse and Lewis :D

amroc18 · 19/08/2016 22:33

If you have sky would thoroughly recommend scandal

pennygoodlife · 19/08/2016 23:38

Yes to Gilmore girls!!!!

CoolCarrie · 19/08/2016 23:46

Must watch The Jinx, The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst, if you do feel like something serious, chilling and brilliant! Best documentary I have watched in years.

yummymummyofthree · 20/08/2016 00:38

Pretty little liars if you want something a little trashy but something interesting at the same time!
Orange is the new black very funny but also quite heartbreaking at points!
How to get away with murder but it's a series you do need to concentrate on as otherwise it'll be confusing

Quite old now but Skins I recently became obsessed again,a very good series

PregnantAndEngaged · 20/08/2016 07:40

Breaking Bad
Dexter
Orange is the New Black

Probably watch these early on in maternity leave when child will be asleep most of the time/not notice or, if later, do it when child naps as they are quite violent/bad language etc. Highly recommend, they are soooo good!

House, medical, comedy.
Bones, crime/mystery, with lots of funny bits.
Grey's Anatomy, medical romance/drama.
Orange is the New Black, comedy, prison drama.
Prison Break, drama, thriller.
Game of Thrones, epic fantasy, fantastic story
Breaking Bad, chemist makes drugs to help with cancer bills.

Sci-fi/ Fantasy lovers:
Sanctuary, helping weird creatures to survive and hide them.
Firefly, short, fantastic characters.
Stargate: SG1, going to alien worlds to discover new places/people.
Stargate Atlantis, same as above.
Star Trek: Deep Space 9, what life would be like in space.
Charmed, about three witches fighting bad guys with their powers.
Orphan Black, about clones.

Murder, a bit more graphic:
Dexter, serial killer vigilante, a bit bloody.
Hannibal, serial killer mystery, sometimes a little bit graphic.
Walking Dead, zombie apocalypse, with good characters.

Love all the medical shows, especially House, Grey's Anatomy, ER, Bodies. Just bought Cardiac Arrest to rewatch.
Also like crime dramas - love Morse, & Lewis. Spooks. Breaking Bad. Life on Mars.
Love a good comedy -Allo Allo, Vicar of Dibley, Royle Family, Jeeves & Wooster.
At a loose end, we found something called Mad Dogs (British cast) - a few gory bits but it was really funny.

parlezvousfrancais · 20/08/2016 15:05

Wentworth - amazing! Full of OMG moments
Greys Anatomy
Breaking bad

I watched all of downton abbey on this mat leave as tamer with a 3 year old around! Unlike when I was in mat leave with him and watched all of breaking bad!

GrouchyKiwi · 20/08/2016 21:41

Friday Night Lights. Don't let the American Football theme put you off. It's really about people and is wonderful.

Bananacabana · 20/08/2016 21:46

I watched 'Lie To Me' twice I enjoyed it that much and 'The Walking Dead.' Can highly recommend both Smile

Bananacabana · 20/08/2016 21:47

I have loved
Desperate housewives

Revenge
Greys anatomy
Wentworth

Verbena37 · 21/08/2016 00:05

Outlander.
Can't be beaten.

Verbena37 · 21/08/2016 00:07

Well, perhaps Once Upon a Time equals it and Sanctuary is good too but the amount of green screen in Sanctuary annoyed me a bit.

IsItGinTimeYet · 21/08/2016 00:09

Doc Martin, greys anatomy, Sherlock and Whitechapel are all well worth a watch!

SleepDeprivedAndCranky · 21/08/2016 00:16

The Good Wife (9 Series)
Elementary
Sherlock
Downton Abbey

JeffreyNeedsAHobby · 21/08/2016 04:17

OITNB, Good Wife, Mad Men and my recent fave Don't Trust the B* in apartment 23 Smile. I like strong women.

GirlOverboard · 21/08/2016 04:44
