I've missed the last few ... am hoping they are having a 'blip' - used to really like it too, Sobernow.
Am still coping with all the fancy whizzy-photography style - just show me what everyone is doing PROPERLY please...

I fell asleep & missed the reveal so glad someone asked the question.

saltireneepsandtatties · 23/01/2007 18:21

All this supposed secrecy with mels' necklace is starting to annoy me now as well. Just bin it Boyd, or hand it in to a charity shop

funnypeculiar · 23/01/2007 19:47

ah, yes, wtf is that all about? did I miss something??
(Did ask dh half way through 'where's Mel??' 'very dead' he intoned...)

There is something about Mel's necklace here - but I don't understand it either!

sarahhal · 23/01/2007 20:34

I watched it and had to really think there for a while who the killer actually was as it was so damned complicated!

3xamum · 24/01/2007 14:06

Good its not just me then! I posted last week that I was being thick over the whole Fakirs baloney! I think this series is trying to be to clever and just losing viewers in the process.

LOL at giving Mels necklace to the charity shop

UnquietDad · 24/01/2007 15:24

I think the silly fakirs episode really lost it.

This week's was too complex for its own good - as if the scriptwriter had handed in a perfectly good - if far-fetched - 50-minute whodunnit and the script-ed had padded it with the Bent Garda subplot and the Oedipal stuff with Grace.

It was trying to be too portentous and "meaningful" as well, with all the play on Fall (from grace, of course) imagery and Adam/Eve (three Eves in this episode, did you notice?)and the Freudian babble all mixed up with that. Coherent it was not.

margo1974 · 24/01/2007 15:33

Glad it's not just me thinking this - only half watched 2nd story & dh didn't series link when setting it on sky+ so deleted 3rd story

UnquietDad · 24/01/2007 15:39

ooh, it's in trouble!

Is this Boyd/Grace stuff going to come to a head do you think? Her criticising his methods last week, then this week has him ripping her profession apart....

UnquietDad · 26/01/2007 10:04

It's been simmering for about 3 series now! That mixture of professional respect and disquiet.

lazyline · 26/01/2007 13:13

Yeah, but he was REALLY evil this week.

JackieNo · 28/01/2007 21:46

I normally like Waking the Dead, but I can't watch this week's. Have had to come through to another room, and block my ears so I can't hear it. I just can't watch stuff that involves children being mistreated.
