Amazing episode! It just put everything/everyone in the right place and tied up everything ready for the 2 most important things next season......the fight for the Iron Throne and the battle against the white walkers (although I think that'll be more of a final season battle once Dany and Jon have met and their relation revealed).
It has also made me not so sad about next season only having 7 episodes as I think the last 2/3 eps of this season where just filler because they hadn't enough stories to keep the 10 episode arc interesting.
The opening was amazing, the music just set the whole thing up but I was shocked to see Margeary was amongst the fatalities. Tommen's suicide actually got to me more than anything else I've seen on GoT (even Hodor's death) because he was just a boy, a good boy raised by and around people who only want power and will anything to get it. I think Cersei absolutely knew he would kill himself but went ahead anyway because she is too corrupted by power and anger now. She dressed in black (mourning) in what would be her gown for her coronation BEFORE Tommen killed himself, I think she was knew he couldn't live with knowing what his Mother had done. I stupidly didn't see his suicide coming even though I read that spoiler a few weeks ago.
Arya, I figured that was her when Jamie kept looking at her (although for a minute I thought he was actually going to sleep with her, maybe making us see that his love for Cersei wasn't as strong) because I was wondering what significance the Freys had to this whole episode, it had to be for Arya to get her revenge. And she must be some sort of super slayer to have been able to murder all his sons and bake them in a pie (how much time did she need to murder, chop them all up and cook them??).
Sansa, I don't actually think she is planning on betraying Jon at all. Or if she is going to then I don't think she has any idea that she is going to. She is shocked to hear he is getting the main bedroom ready for HER, not him, so she knows he has no plans to oust her. I think she is truely happy to just be home for now, with Jon, and will not have any plans to do anything more until forced to next season.
Jon, I actually got goosebumps during the 'King in the North' thing, even though I thought he had been a bit wet previously but I think every thing that is happening to him now is making him stronger, setting him up for his future.
Amazing episode and I'm so glad it's ended on a high (of sorts) than a massive cliffhanger which would have been awful seeing as how we have such a long wait for the next one.
Oh, one more thing, Jon's name.....that's going to be a bit strange finding out he's not 'Jon' anymore but Aemon/Aerys etc. But he definitely wouldn't be Jon, no way Lyanna would name him that. And yes, there were 2 (I think) women in the chamber with Lyanna so maybe they are around somewhere, knowing the secret too because I can't see Ned killing them for it. It was a bit odd though that he entered the room, saw her covered in blood and didn't ask WTF happened?
