I've been off work sick since yesterday and have binged watch Queer as folk.

I just can't believe I was 12 when this was first on telly. I have an almost 12 year old DD and not sure I would let her watch!

I forgot how good it was.

DH was an extra in Queer As Folk back in t'day. Background artiste in some of the club /bar shots.

He is slightly less than complimentary about Aiden Gillen Grin

I'm sitting in front of the telly now - I've searched and searched for it- doesn't even come up on the sky search or all 4 . Confused

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 25/06/2016 22:09

Found it now by googling on my phone- is it only on devices or is my sky box crap?

FATEdestiny · 25/06/2016 22:25

I've just binge re-watched the first 5 episodes as a direct result of reading this thread the other day.

I found it on out TIVO virgin box in:
On Demand > by channel > All4 > Queer as Folks

I loved QAF. I still quote from it daily.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 25/06/2016 22:29

Hmmm which is what our Sky box should do. This isn't the first time stuff has been advertised but it isn't on our telly. I feel a phonecall to them is in order.... sigh...

Watching Cucumber now as a result of this thread. Holy crap. Just watched Lances episode. Won't say any more but (insert horrified sweaty expression here).
Can anyone explain Hazel? Thought that was an awesome touch. Went right over DH's head as he never watched QAF. She is seen in flashback as a really old lady poss. homeless/drunk. So did the karaoke/heart thing happen in real life?

Imfinehowareyou · 29/06/2016 00:05

Sweary expression. Not sweaty!

MargotLovedTom · 29/06/2016 00:07

God I loved QAF. It even made Anthony Cotton bearable.

IPokeBadgers · 30/06/2016 12:36

I watched QAF as a first year uni student with flatmates and we couldn't believe what we were watching: it seemed so very graphic and was unlike anything we had seen before. I have never re-watched it but do agree that it opened up a lot of discussions and I think made so many people grow up a bit about what being gay was ie normal folks with normal jobs and friendship issues and relationship problems etc.

I think it is so weird now seeing Aiden as Littlefinger in GoT and Charlie as Jax Teller in SoA. In some ways they will always be Stuart and Nathan to me!
