It is sad about Paul. I don't understand why they have brought him mum into it, have all these secrets that are never going to come out now. Seems like a wasted plot.
Anyone know why the Paul actor left?sacked or quit? I liked him.

Eminybob · 19/07/2016 11:58

YY to Whitney. Of course it'll end in tragedy, it actually a wanted baby

SoupDragon · 19/07/2016 12:09

Yeah, the Paul thing makes no sense. We still have no idea what happened when he was a baby or what actually happened to his father.

southeastdweller · 19/07/2016 12:37

The Paul actor was sacked/written out.

EnidButton · 19/07/2016 12:39

Wanted baby but not planned. Has anyone on a soap ever had a planned for baby that has been born without any complications? (Infertility treatments aside.)

EnidButton · 19/07/2016 12:40

I think they had the whole Paul storyline planned before he even started.

ThornyBird · 19/07/2016 13:13

Jumping back a few pages, I had no idea as I tend to do online shopping so don't see the TV magazines so it was a Shock for me. This thread is pretty good for not giving spoilers out Smile

I also tend to miss a great deal of telly I want to watch as I don't buy the TV magazines either but that's another thread Wink

HarryPottersMagicWand · 19/07/2016 13:20

Yep, Whitney bound to end up with miscsrrige/infertile. They made waaayyyy too much of her saying it's all she's ever wanted. Predictable.

Paul's dad was very ill and Pam helped him die, we do know what happened there. I reckon his mum may have been a druggie and Pam and Les took Paul from her, said they were raising him and she was too drugged up to care at the time. But it didn't mean she didn't want him. Seemed pointless bringing her back though.

southeastdweller · 19/07/2016 14:36

The Paul's dad, that's all we know as that's all Pam told Billy in a short scene last year,

southeastdweller · 19/07/2016 14:36

^re Paul.

goingtotown · 19/07/2016 14:42

Expect tonight's episode will be heartbreaking, Pam is a fantastic actress.

MissBattleaxe · 19/07/2016 14:42

I think they had the whole Paul storyline planned before he even started- Yes he was supposed to be there for a year.

Jasonandyawegunorts · 19/07/2016 16:35

How long has he been there?

This seems suspisously like her was fired...

Like is suspect the stuff with vincent and Donna was supposed to be Fatboy.

SuperFlyHigh · 19/07/2016 16:58

Jason you're right - I think he was fired...

I thought it was interesting that whichever actor died (Ben or Paul) we didn't see his final scenes and it seemed very rushed to me.

Kaff and Les have gone to the same Wooden School of Acting.

Paul did seem very lame, even with his 'gay' bad acting.

SheHasAWildHeart · 19/07/2016 16:58

/Paul announced ages ago he was leaving. I think he was always just a plot device for Ben to "come out". Ben will now be comforted by Johnny who he's always had a crush on. The actor who played Paul comes from a stage/theatre background and is really good at musical theatre, don't think he was the right fit for EE plus they never gave him his own storylines just let him float around on the outer edges of other people's.

SheHasAWildHeart · 19/07/2016 16:59

PP, the actor who played Paul is gay real life.

Eminybob · 19/07/2016 17:02

I was reading an interview with him earlier and he said that it was a shock when he heard he was being killed off, it wasn't his choice.

Jasonandyawegunorts · 19/07/2016 17:06

I wouldn't mind being an eastenders character without a central storyline to be honest.... Just like if i was an actor i'd take lots of supporting / minor roles, I know Most actors fight for the lead but learning loads of lines would worry me.

southeastdweller · 19/07/2016 17:31

Yes he was sacked, it was confirmed by the BBC a few months ago. He was out of his depth in the dramatic scenes I thought.

SheHasAWildHeart · 19/07/2016 17:36

I always think being an extra on EE is cushy. They get paid well and just walk around in the background, doing their shopping in the market, have a drink in the vic, looks quite chilled out.

Jasonandyawegunorts · 19/07/2016 17:41

and sometimes you get to go to a location shoot and have a seat in the background of a wedding / funeral, so it's not all walking back and fourth between the Cafe and the clothes stall.

EnidButton · 19/07/2016 18:47

They even get names and the odd line here and there. Like Shrimpy and Tracy. I wonder if that's the only work they do.

I didn't think Paul was that bad but can picture him as a musical/stage actor more than a soap one. He's got good stage hair. Grin

EnidButton · 19/07/2016 18:48

Les is going to be cringey as hell tonight isn't he?

LineyReborn · 19/07/2016 18:55

Paul is like a baby Lee Mead, really.

EnidButton · 19/07/2016 19:22

He is!
