SalemSaberhagen · 28/05/2016 23:08

How bloody old is the Stavros Flatley kid now! It made me feel ancient watching that.

How can a magician win a final when, apart from a bollocksy ripped card, he did NOT PERFORM MAGIC?!

Katymac · 28/05/2016 23:10

Nope I misremembered he is only 20

But at least their hair would match!! Can you imagine how much product they would have if they lived together!!

MrsJayy · 28/05/2016 23:13

ijustwannadance · 28/05/2016 23:25

I didn't see the winner's performance but his lack of reaction to winning was a bit odd. Where were the tears or any emotion?

It was great when all the old winners etc came on though. Love Diversity.

MitzyLeFrouf · 28/05/2016 23:27

Diversity were the best act of the night!

MrsJayy · 28/05/2016 23:30

He did look a bit teary eyed but he doesnt seem a very emotional man he is very calm and not wohhooy but i secretly wanted boogie storm to win Blush

FernetBranca · 28/05/2016 23:31

I think the real winner this evening was Ashley Banjo.

Choreographing, presenting and performing in a very well received montage like that on a prime time slot is a big deal and I'm sure will have given him a lot of kudos for whatever he wants to do next on tv.

I've watched on and off for 6 or 8 years and I have to say Diversity have always stood out for me as worthy winners - they were unusual, clever, extremely good at what they did and very likeable. That I think is what you need to win over the various voting strands.

MrsJayy · 28/05/2016 23:35

Yes he is very talented putting together a performance like that is brilliant ive watched it again on you tube i loved it

ijustwannadance · 28/05/2016 23:48

It might've just been sweat but it looked like Ashley was crying at the end. He is lovely.

LineyReborn · 28/05/2016 23:50

Ashley is amazing.

MrsJayy · 28/05/2016 23:50

Yeah I think he was crying he is lovely

PurpleAlerts · 28/05/2016 23:51

I love Diversity. Jordan Banjo and one of the other members were at my DDs school and I remember seeing the two of them perform at a school show. It was around May time when BGT was on the TV. I remember saying to DD "My God they are amazing! They should go on BGT!" And the following year they did and won!

The winner tonight was such a disappointment... Apart from ripping up a card ( and I actually saw him out something in his sleeve so not that good at slight of hand) and an old geezer come on with a marching band I am not quite sure what he did to deserve it.

Oh well I suppose it was better than another bloody dog!

gentlydownthestreamm · 29/05/2016 00:03

I just finished watching, can't believe such a load of transparently heart-string tugging bollocks actually won it. He seems very nice and all, but come on! Wake up, great British public.

I was behind Jasmine all the way, I think she is genuinely a very special and original singer, which is really saying something after the hundreds that are paraded across our screens every year in this and similar shows. That said, I didn't think she'd win and I was pleasantly surprised she got 4th place.

Cant believe people actually think that boring magic act was the best thing on the series this year.

Loved the medley in celebration of the 10th series, it was incredibly well put together

laylabelle · 29/05/2016 09:27

Loved the 10 years bit.seen diversity last year on tour and so good! Set a standard for other dance acts that's hard to top really. Shame they couldn't get the guy and his monkey puppet from series on lol.loved him for its bizzareness

Voting percentages are out.always interesting.not a huge run away win this time but good on him.makes a change

The80sweregreat · 29/05/2016 09:46

I am a fan of Diversity too. Ashley is a creative talent and out of the all winners they have been fantastic, really professional. The montage was slick and must have taken a while to put together as well. I didn't watch all of the final and missed the act that won though! Jasmine was lovely, such a beautiful voice and none of that 'up and down the notes screaming' that so many singers seem to do. I hope she goes on to well.
I was waiting for Susan Boyle and Paul Potts to make an appearance too though for the 10th celebrations!

scarlets · 29/05/2016 11:36

I didn't watch any of bgt this year but I caught the last half of the final. It seemed lacklustre, there were no real "stars" there, although the young female singers and the charismatic guy who came second should be able to make a decent career from music, as Escala and Only Boys Aloud (for example) have done. Simon Cowell badly needs another Susan Boyle/Diversity/Spellbound/Paul Potts next year I think.

The 10th anniversary special was outstanding. It's a shame that Paul Potts and Susan Boyle were absent, but I guess that they have crazy schedules now.
