Wiki says Robert

EASTENDERS - and Grant coming home
SheHasAWildHeart · 25/05/2016 09:47

It was hilarious when the police officers didn't believe him. Even Bobby was getting annoyed.

SoupDragon · 25/05/2016 10:00

Yes, I checked Wiki too.

However, I still thought he was called Bobby after a footballer and has always been called Bobby. What is on his fictional birth certificate is, I imagine, not known.

SheHasAWildHeart · 25/05/2016 10:11

Am surprised that the Beale's have kept the jewellery box considering it killed their daughter and would incriminate their son.

I've said it before but I think the little lad who plays Bobby is brilliant. Although yesterday I realised how much he has in common with Ben.

Why was Sharon calling on her to protect the Beales, isn't she Phil's solicitor?
She doesn't want Bobby to tell the truth or the police will find out that Phil bribed the foreman of the jury.

Optimist1 · 25/05/2016 10:13

I'm pretty sure Bobby was named after Bobby Moore (footballer, World Cup 1966 and all that) because someone or other was a big West Ham fan.

MagpieCursedTea · 25/05/2016 10:19

Gary (who originally thought he was Bobby's Dad) was a West Ham fan, which is why he named him after Bobby Moore.

BlueThursday · 25/05/2016 10:30

I thought Bobby Zamora

NuggetofPurestGreen · 25/05/2016 10:36

Was thinking that about Jack. Surely he'd be trying to do something about Max! Unless they're in the middle of one of their rows.

NuggetofPurestGreen · 25/05/2016 10:40

"I'm in trouble aren't I?" says Bobby.
Well you've just admitted to murder and assaulted your mother so possibly....although this is Enders so maybe not...

NuggetofPurestGreen · 25/05/2016 10:41

Why did Phil bribe the jury to get Max sent daaahn? I missed all that bit.

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 25/05/2016 10:52

I think - although even as I type this it seems a ridiculously thin reason - that he wanted to make sure someone who wasn't Ben got convicted so that the police would no longer pursue Ben. Does that sound possible?

(Because everything else is SO possible, of course).

SheHasAWildHeart · 25/05/2016 11:01

Yes, the police first thought it was Ben because he mugged Lucy on the day and had her purse, or some such nonsense. At some point or another the police have accused pretty much everyone, while actually ignoring the person who has confessed.

MagpieCursedTea · 25/05/2016 11:06

I think Phil was still pissed off with Max getting Ben to sign the car lot over to him as well.

SoupDragon · 25/05/2016 12:33

Thank god someone else remembers the whole Bobby/footballer thing!

shamelessmailhack · 25/05/2016 13:07

I dunno why Ben was being such an arse about Max. He'd just found out his own brother was willing to let him go down for murder, but didn't believe he'd do the same to Max?

Ben is a total dick.

SheHasAWildHeart · 25/05/2016 13:43

That young policeman interviewing Bobby was very, very irritating. I was willing Bobby to whack him over the head with something.

Do you mean the one with the curly hair? Thought I recognised him from somewhere, and then remembered seeing him on SCD. He is Kellie Bright's (Linda Carter) real life husband

MagpieCursedTea · 25/05/2016 14:20

No way! I love little soap facts like that. He's still annoying though Grin

SheHasAWildHeart · 25/05/2016 14:23

Am pretty sure he winked at Bobby a couple of times, and was trying to be all "cool grown up" as though bashing your mum in the head three times and causing spinal damage was like admitting you ate all the chocolates.

Optimist1 · 25/05/2016 19:41

I'll go against the grain here and say I thought the policeman interviewing Basher Bobbie did a good job - he was trying to put him at ease whilst following procedure and getting to the truth of the rather more complicated than he expected matter.

(I wonder if he'll get any scenes with Linda?)

AndYourBirdCanSing · 25/05/2016 20:02

Optimist I thought the same- seemed trained/experienced in working with younger offenders (I know it's not real really) Grin

Optimist1 · 25/05/2016 20:25

Glad I'm not the only one, Bird !

unimagmative13 · 25/05/2016 20:27

The policeman was more Side Show Bob than Paul

Cantgetmyoldnameback · 25/05/2016 20:33

Maybe I'm missing something, but I cannot see how Bobby confessing to Lucy's murder would lead the police to find out that Phil nobbled the jury?

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 25/05/2016 20:48

Kellie Bright tweeted that she doesn't get any scenes with him.

I was thinking how young he looked compared to her, so I googled and he's the same age as I am! A few months older, in fact Shock Playing Linda Carter clearly gives one a fair few worry lines (unsurprisingly).

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 25/05/2016 20:49

Ooh, love that someone on here described him as "that young policeman" Grin I feel better about being 44 now!
