has everyone caught uo with the last episode? Can someone explain it to me please :)

I was tired/humgover when i watche dity and just wasnt following teh Beth storyline

SlatternIsTrying · 23/05/2016 13:38

Spoiler Alert - if you haven't watched the most up to date episode.

As we have seen from the last couple of episodes with Beth flash backs she, with the help of MK or Mika, had worked out quite a bit of the clone stuff and the connection to neolutionists.

In the most recent flash back Beth ended up in the clinic threatening Prof Duncan (female), nobody had made it that far before in terms of discovery. Beth had been primed by the Asian lady (whose name escapes me but was called 'the engineer') who supposedly worked with Prof Duncan, to believe that killing Prof Duncan would be the end to all the clones' troubles.

Asian lady was basically using Beth to do her dirty work in trying to oust Prof Duncan. But Beth didn't kill Prof Duncan after she said 'but I love you all'.

When Beth ran out of the building after NOT killing Prof Duncan she was in a car with Asian lady who is not happy that Beth didn't do it. Asian lady tells Beth that she knows too much and therefore they (being all the clones) will have to be killed. If you recall, there previously was mention of Helsinki which is where all the clones were wiped out, except MK who escaped.

It was only Beth that who had found out so much, so to protect the other clones she killed herself. If she hadn't then all of the clones would have been wiped out.

In other words Beth sacrificed herself so that the other clones (sestras) wouldn't be killed off.

I'm glad they explained why Beth did what she did. It never sat true with me that Beth randomly committed suicide, but this explanation shows that she did it to save the others.

schbittery · 23/05/2016 18:16

ah got you! I didn't quite catch big baddy lady (Cho?) saying we'll have tonkill all the clones because you know too much! and you're right, it does make her suicide more realistic.

I do thibk they're making it up as they go along a bit but they are at least trying to tidy up loose ends which I like :)

I also didn't think it was that realistic that Helena would leave shortly before giving birth to twins? why was that again?

I'm going to have to start watching Orpah Black earlier in the evening :)

daisywhoopsie · 26/05/2016 19:05

New episode tomorrow!

SmellOfPythonInTheMorning · 27/05/2016 12:14

I'm really enjoying this season. And after last week's episode it all feels a bit bleak, so I really want to know in which direction the 'solution' will move! (guess it will sit with Helena's babies).

SymphonyofShadows · 03/06/2016 23:11

I bloody love S!

Iggi999 · 06/06/2016 00:32

Why does no one talk about Helena, aren't they worried about her?
So glad Alison didn't let us down

FTFOAFOSM · 06/06/2016 08:22

I think Helena felt it would be safer for everyone if she wasn't around - it's also probably safer for 'her babies' ( I so read that in her voice in my head!), so we may hear something from her once she'd had them. I do feel sorry for her, being out there on her own!

SymphonyofShadows · 06/06/2016 08:25

Did she tell anyone what she did with the embryos?

How does Felix get money to live? Come to think of it, how is any of it financed?

FTFOAFOSM · 06/06/2016 11:45

Yes, it's magic-tv-money, where no-one needs to work to live, but at least we have had toilet and food prep scenes! Felix is an artist, so presumable quite skint, but hey, if I had a loft apartment like that with fuck all money, I'd be well chuffed!
I don't think Helena told anyone about the embryos, and no-one's thought to try and trace Helena with or without considering her pregnancy, but there's also Rachel's child - who is both Rachel and Castor, perhaps?
Helena's is Helena + dodgy bar bloke, yes? Or is it Helena + Castor from being captive in the deserty place? Bit vague on that one!

AmazingDisgrace · 06/06/2016 12:07

Helena's embryos had died hadn't they? due to not being stored correctly hence she gave them a burial in the garden. I think her babies are from the Castor implantation?

TaurielTest · 06/06/2016 12:21

isn't Helena's pregnancy from the Johanssen's farm? Or did they just harvest her eggs there?

TaurielTest · 06/06/2016 12:25

Yes definitely from creepy Prolethean farm - Henrik's the father (and he implanted another Henrik + Helena embryo into his daughter Gracie but she miscarried).

SymphonyofShadows · 06/06/2016 12:53

I thought the farm was too long ago to be where she got pg, I'm confused. I assumed the father was Jesse (him out of Suits)

ISaySteadyOn · 07/06/2016 20:58

Helena did not know to feed the embryos 'liquid nitrogens'.
As to Felix, isn't it implied that he has another profession outside artistry?

The Engineer is Evie Cho.

As to the latest, poor Donnie. First accidentally killing Leekie and then in prison. That scene where he is looking for a place to eat reminded me of American films about high school and a new kid coming in. Anyone else?

And yes, S is awesome.

The father of Helena's babies is definitely the creepy cult leader from the farm.

I am so glad to see Helena back, she adds some much needed comedy amongst all the sciency stuff.

Back in the very first episodes it was alluded to that Felix was a prostitute but it hasn't been mentioned since.

I loved binge watching the show, but find that now I am watching week by week it is harder to follow the storey lines. I'm not sure I care that much about the office politics of the Neolutionists.

SymphonyofShadows · 12/06/2016 17:46

I loved Helena's hat. It's weird but some of the clones look physically different to me, Alison for instance looks more petit. It's very clever.

Iggi999 · 13/06/2016 10:58

Glad to see Helena back. It's odd when she was such a scary presence at the start, but now comes to save the day! And even Rachel doing the right thing for once.

WanHeda · 17/06/2016 15:42

What did everyone think of the finale? Very sad that season 5 is to be the last!

Andylion · 17/06/2016 17:12

How/where do people in the UK watch OB?

Andylion · 17/06/2016 17:14

The father of Helena's babies is definitely the creepy cult leader from the farm.
Yes, him. Played by the very talented Peter Outerbridge. Smile

WanHeda · 17/06/2016 20:38

They are all on Netflix.

I really thought Cosima was going to die :(

Tatiana is extremely talented, you are never in any doubt which clone she is playing.

Anyone else started calling their sisters "my setsras" in a Ukranian accent? Grin

Iggi999 · 18/06/2016 00:15

I love how Tatiana is dressed as Crystal and then removes the sunglasses and you see it is Sarah in disguise - how on earth is Sarah dressed as Crystal not the same as Crystal?! But they weren't.

WanHeda · 18/06/2016 09:00

Iggi, it's like that every time a clone plays a clone, isnt it? She is so talented, you can just tell who is who!

Andylion · 18/06/2016 17:55

They are all on Netflix.

I wish they were on Netflix in Canada. The my sisters would have no excuse for not watching at least one episode . (Then they'd be hooked!) As they have never seen it, I would look like a tit if I called either of them "sestra". Sad
