well, it has already started so, get the vanish out, the orange stuff gets everywhere.

Highlights to include- can Rafa win a tournament this April?
Is Djok starting a losing streak wishful thinking ?
Will Murray get enough sleep to retain his title in Madrid? (Doesn't appear to be scheduled to play Munich)
Will Stan's shorts be a patch on last year's?
And never discount the Rog Bot!

So, Vamos! Allez! Let's go!

Second set not going well.and he's had chances.

VAMOS!!!

Absolutely delighted that Andy won today.

Raahh · 07/05/2016 18:52

Not the best result for Rafa- but a long way on from where he was at the beginning of the year. He squandered too many break points, should have been very different.

Won't be in tomorrow anyway, so not fussed who wins now.

Roma next. Can't believe how quickly it's all going!

I missed the match, but pleased for Andy. Rafa must be pleased that his form has improved despite the result tomorrow.

Hoping Nishi can beat Djok later, but not convinced he will.

GrouchyKiwi · 07/05/2016 19:07

I hate that I can't watch the matches. A bit of tennis would have been a nice way to cope with my migraine this morning.

Well done Andy. Hope he can pull it off tomorrow against whoever it is. Must be a bit harder for the second finalist since it seems they're playing a lot later than Murray's match. I suppose, though, that three set matches are not as tough.

Is the French Open on normal TV at all, does anyone know?

Raahh · 08/05/2016 13:48

Commiserations re migraine, Grouchy- I have just about recovered from one. Muggy weather doesn't help.

RG is usually on ITV4. I hope they have sacked Mark Petchey- his constant witterings about Rafa being ranked so low, and not having won much last year got right on my titsGrin
That's Mark Petchey, who won 1 tournament throughout his entire career. Knob.Grin

I think Djok will win this afternoon. Unless Monte Carlo Djok turns up Grin

My brother-in-law has invited himself to a BBQ. I don't mind, it's a nice day. But he had better not be getting any ideas about making it a regular thing- I aim to be busy for the next 7-8 weekendsGrin.
memories of the year he came when Rafa was playing Ferrer in the RG finalGrin

GrouchyKiwi · 08/05/2016 18:26

Hope you had a good BBQ, Raahh.

I actually got some sun on my legs today. Good thing no-one was around to get snow blindness.

Listening to the match now.

GrouchyKiwi · 08/05/2016 18:51

Sounds like the crowd in Madrid prefers Murray to Djokovic.

GrouchyKiwi · 08/05/2016 19:28

Argh. Can't listen any more.

Raahh · 08/05/2016 19:34

I see Andy is moaning now that he is losing this set. And probably the match.

He is obsessed with other people's time keeping-unless he is winning. He ought to be penalised for all the time he wastes complaining. That might stop the muttering.

BBQ was lovely, Grouchy- except the gp put me on a course of sleeping pills and today they have made me feel like a zombie. And RaahhDog decided to bark at bilGrin.

Well, onwards to Rome.

Countdown on for the 22nd....GrinTennis

Murray has split from Mauresmo- not surprised really. He might have improved a lot on clay over the last 2 years, and he's been consistent in the slams, but his on-court attitude has gone back to pre-Lendl levels. If he is going to win the big tournaments, I do think sorting his head out is the key. Going straight to strop mode when things aren't going his way is affecting his game.

Or maybe there is too much baby talkGrin

OP posts:
GrouchyKiwi · 09/05/2016 16:29

I'm not surprised either. It's definitely helped him in some ways but I agree that his attitude has gone backwards.

BeckerLleytonNever · 09/05/2016 17:18

Agree re the attitude too. maybe hes practicing for his kids terrible twos!!

hope he doesn't get Mac or Connors or someone like that for a coach, thatll worsen the attitude.

he should call lendl again.

Raahh · 11/05/2016 20:18

Rafa safely through- but so is Stan, so it's all getting tricky on the maths front as to whether Nadal will be seeded 4th for RG.
Djok didn't have it that easy against Robert.

I keep hoping to watch some and things get in the waySad

OP posts:
Raahh · 11/05/2016 20:27

of course , Rafa faces Kyrgios next- and Djok in the quarter final. Not the easiest of draws!

OP posts:
Raahh · 12/05/2016 16:09

CrapSad 1st set Kyrgios.

VAMOS

OP posts:
Raahh · 12/05/2016 16:36

Just got back from taking dd2 to Rainbows, and Kyrgios in on the floor with trainers.Hmm

Where are you all watching this? Is it Sky? Envy

Raahh · 12/05/2016 16:54

Gah !Stan has lost to Juan Monaco.

this is of course only useful if Rafa wins today, and makes the final.(I think) runs out of fingers
