well, it has already started so, get the vanish out, the orange stuff gets everywhere.

Highlights to include- can Rafa win a tournament this April?
Is Djok starting a losing streak wishful thinking ?
Will Murray get enough sleep to retain his title in Madrid? (Doesn't appear to be scheduled to play Munich)
Will Stan's shorts be a patch on last year's?
And never discount the Rog Bot!

So, Vamos! Allez! Let's go!

Monfils does tend to run out of steam, in dramatic fashion. But I do like him- he's great to watch.

GrinGrin

SKY commentators are saying Rafa fans will be grinning (I am) especially as the media had really written him off.

Barca should be great now.

Well, that was the best start of the clay season I could want.

I got so involved, I nearly forgot to put in the roast potatoes.ShockGrin

Really, really pleased for Rafa & you could see how much it meant to him.

DH's team won as well, so he's happy too.

Maryz- BlushGrin

I hope it does shake things up- and shut-up the detractors. I'm not saying this heralds a repeat of 2014, but it's a great start. Don't know how Djok will be in Madrid or Rome- he's been too good to think this is the start of a slump. But who knows?

Monfils played well for 2 sets, he is definitely taking things seriously, not so much larking about. But I was sooooo relieved at the end.

Could you tellGrin?

And Del Potro is hopefully going to play Madrid and Rome- I really want him to do well.

5 sets are better for Rafa- because he can take so bloody long to settle into a matchGrin

He has an Olympic gold- would be greedy to have twoGrin I just hope I get to see some of it.

I'm interested in seeing how the younger ones progress. Has there ever been a time before when the average age of top 10 was about 30? i'm sure previously most were considering retirement by then.

I did think that the Rio tournament was usually clay.

rankings

This is my favourite website for nerdy statsGrin. It helpfully gives ages in years and monthsGrin. Discounting months the average age in the top 10 is exactly 30!

I think the days of teenagers winning the big tournaments may be over for a while. Nadal was probably the last to win a slam as a teenager, iirc.

Rafa will celebrate his 30th during RG. Last year, he lost on his birthdaySad. Hope he does better this year. Cake

ooh, Mama Thanks.

I saw Ferrer is not playing now, due to injury which is a shame. I hope he gets over it, would be a shame if his career tailed offwith injuries-last year wasn't great for him either.

Rafa is looking much more at ease since his win in Monte Carlo. Easy win for him today.

2 good wins- VamosGrin

I like Chardy and would love him to beat Nish (who I don't like, for no good reason at all). Be better for Rafa if Kei lost of courseGrin

Let's hope JuanPotatoTwo or magimedi (who are always threatening pistols at dawn over which of them loves Del Potro most) don't hear about your dream or they'll be fighting you instead of each other!
