Anyone watching Modern Family S7?

I loved this when I first stumbled across it but now we're at series 7, I'm sort of thinking maybe it's all been done. Everyone's older. I can sort of see the jokes coming... I don't know. The jury's out for me, although I'm such a fan I even feel disloyal slagging it off.

I love it although I agree this last series has been a bit meh. And the actor who plays luke isn't great now he's got older.

I also can't stand the amount of surgery Claire has had. If your mum had a face lift you'd have to say something! Also Alex isn't really very nice to them is she?

Yy to Claires face - but on the whole she is a lot leaner than the first few seasons so maybe thats part of it too? I do love her choppy haircut though.

I read the guy who plays Dylan had massive issues with plastic surgery and body dysmorphia and his face changed a lot through the seasons because of that.

Yeah alex is very dismissive of her folks and siblings, at first it was funny but now its just mean.

I don't think Julie Bowen has had much done to her face, she's lost a lot of weight since the series started and changed her hair but that's about it. Sofia Vergara on the other hand looks like she's been hitting to Botox as her forehead is now practically immobile.

In the first series the actress who plays Claire was pregnant with twins.

The thing with Luke and Alex was their characters were based on them being young like was the cute little guy who got things in a muddle and Alex was the clever one who didn't quite fit in with the family and could identify with Mitch. But now they are older it just doesn't seem to work as well. Imo.
I still find manny quite funny as he has his Columbian heritage and his old before his time querks and his teaming up with Jay to outwit Gloria.

No - just the pilot. By the time they came to film the first series she was already a mum to them. Its interesting watching that pilot and seeing all the clever "hide a twin bump" tricks.

Yes Julie Bowan looks less skinny now then she did in earlier series. She looks great but her eyes have got that look of being tweaked. I noticed it more in the first of the season but I'm used to it now. It had it's moments but it's nowhere near as funny as it was.

I think this week's episode (with the storm) was possibly the worst so far. If I hadn't seen the programme before I wouldn't watch it again based on that.

I adore The Middle and think Sue Heck is one of the finest characters ever .

So pleased to find this thread. I feel a real sense of loss that MF just isn't funny any more. It has become farce rather than character based. The Middle, on the other hand, is still very good and seems to have found a plausible way of keeping the older two firmly embedded. Totally agree with the PP who loves Sue Heck - what a star.

Another yawn fest tonight.

I enjoyed last night's more - I do like Pepper, and Cam and Mitch's gay friends.

The actress who plays Sue Heck is just amazing - she had me and DD laughing out loud when she was 'learning' how to walk! and so many touching moments that are done so subtly, especially between Mike and Sue.
