A Spike Lee documentary on at the moment, breaking my heart with footage of the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Caroline Philips, you'd better be watching this and then deciding how precious your floating walnut shelf really was.

This was amazing and horrifying, how can this happen in the first world?

An amazing documentary.
I knew the people of New Orleans didn't get help quickly enough, but I had no idea of the extent to which the government continues to fail them.
And the insurance companies, refusing to pay out....

To think that Bill Clinton was almost impeached for lying about having had an affair, and yet George W Bush is still president after the way he has behaved defies belief. All the media attention Katrina got and nothing happened at all from a government point of view. GWB sickens me.

my god, wasn't this incredible? really beautifully and sensitively played, imo. I have been thinking about it all day
