Why does she irritate me so much, I quite like her food but she's so smug and all that vacant or knowing stares are just so unnecessary.

And all her simpering guffawing dinner guests.

Is it just me?

And she's lost so much weight I don't believe she eats any of it.

I've finished now Xmas Grin

I love Nigella she doesn't give a single shit that she is a walking cliche!

Utterly fabulous darrrrling!

Seriouslyffs · 14/12/2015 22:31

Her KitchenAid is very quiet.

SavoyCabbage · 14/12/2015 22:33

I can't watch her programmes since seeing 'her' in a sketch show. It might have been Ronnie thingy-me-bob. Since then I can't tell the difference between the real Nigella and the parody.

GoofyIsACow · 14/12/2015 22:38

Are KitchenAids noisy seriously ?

I have a dream that they sing like birds whilst mixing my food!

Plonkysaurus · 14/12/2015 22:40

She's fast becoming a caricature. Shane, as I usually like her food. This series has been desperately lacking though, it's not cooking just assembling stuff on plates.

I went to school with someone in the production team. She regularly features in the background.

LyndaNotLinda · 14/12/2015 22:42

They're honestly not all her friends. I have a friend who makes up the numbers (he's black so gives her dining table that ethnically diverse look)

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 15/12/2015 01:57

I didn't believe that ham was hot out of the oven (asbestos hands or not), so maybe the caramel wasn't either?

I'm not sure I like the bits at the end - seeing her upset/frustrated at mucking up her lines isn't really funny (although I did laugh when she knocked the beater out of her Kitchen Aid with her elbow).

Redglitter · 15/12/2015 02:02

Ugh cant bear to watch her and her pathetic innuendos. She's so over rated

RogerScrutonRocks · 15/12/2015 02:18

She's bloody obsessed with 'jewelled', 'gleaming' and 'satiny' frigging everything. And what's with the demonic rictus grinning and the perpetual head wobble?

I'm desperate to try her liquorice & blackcurrant chocolate cake, though.

Doyouthinktheysaurus · 15/12/2015 02:42

I love her writing, especially the older books but she really is hard to watch on tv.

It's jist odd and I don't like it!

VenusRising · 15/12/2015 03:23

How did she lose all that weight? Anyone know the particulars?

Last time I saw her she was making chocolate pasta, or somesuch diabetes inducing food, and sucking the spoon like a pornstar.

(My FIL adores her.. though not in her burka cossie, though I may be mistaken about that... )

Ledkr · 15/12/2015 06:41

venus ironicly it was reportedly by "clean eating" Grin

Greaterthanthesumoftheparts · 15/12/2015 06:49

Yes that Han can't have been hit, she took it out of the oven without oven gloves! Also has anyone else noticed that they seem to have ramped up the ambient noise in this series? From the spoon clacking against the bowl or breaking and egg, all those little sounds seem to have been turned up for effect. Once you notice it, it's really grating (or maybe it's just me!).

MorrisZapp · 15/12/2015 06:49

I assumed the divorce diet had seen the pounds off?

I love Nigella but she's ripe for parody. If I could afford the Dickensian piles of ingredients and cared not a jot for fat and sugar content, I'm sure I could be a gifted hostess too.

I can in here encase if her this morning too
Watched te show and while I thought there was less simpering innuendo and I appreciated the fact that this time she wasn't cooking in her neglige (did I imagine that ? She did cook in her nightie in the last series I saw her in?), j still found her annoying.
It seems a bit contrived (ok it is contrived by nature ) and flase

Blueturquoise · 15/12/2015 07:14

And I really wanted to like her. Which is the funny thing ! As other say I like her writing. So I wanted to tolerate her on the t v but it was gruelling to watch.

SoupDragon · 15/12/2015 07:34

I like her. I especially like the out takes that run after the credits.

when she was curvy

Lol. She's no bean pole now! She looks fabulous.

FawnDrench · 15/12/2015 13:42

Well it was all very well padded out wasn't it?
Too many skylines and skaters and lights and frigging buses.

Never did find out why Kansas was so bloody "compelling" - WTAF?

She could have done at least 5 more recipes.

Utterly bonkers yet somehow mesmerising all at the same time.

So I'm teasingly tumbling and twirling daintily off out to my candle-lit, artfully baubled and splendidly shimmery local delicatessen anon to lazily, languidly and Christmasfully purchase my festive fork and seasonal spoon Wink

Themodernuriahheep · 15/12/2015 22:29

She's - or she was- a nice and intelligent person. Who has gone through a lot. I'm just envious of how she has gone back to her eighteen year old figure pretty much and I want to know how, now!

cleanmachine · 16/12/2015 20:46

Absolutely love nigella. Have bought every book watched every show numerous times. However, this series is awful. The food is awful, expensive and full of fucking cinnamon. She's morphing into Arlene Phillips and the gurning is off putting. I follow her on fb and this series was recorded in the summer so it's all a bit fake trying to recreate her first kitchen from nigella bites.

I still love her though but this series is dire. Have met her in RL and she is lovely and so so slim and very beautiful. From her fb pics I think she lost the weight through clean eating. It's all avacado slices on tons of leafage with copious amounts of seeds thrown over. Oh, I miss the days of her double fried egg sarnies and triple cremed syllabubs.

OnlyHereForTheCamping · 16/12/2015 22:48

I don't approve of the obvious pandering to the American market with fucking Kansas and pumpkin cake. Also I think the guy in the green jumper was a gate crasher.

Tneconni · 16/12/2015 23:49

I haven't made it to the end of a single episode so I just went back on iPlayer to see what the bits at the end were about. I don't believe they are actual outtakes, they look scripted in themselves. She's just so kooky and charming Hmm

Ughnotagain · 16/12/2015 23:55

Team Nigella all the way. Tho yes, the smiling at the bowl is weird...

She replied to one of my comments on Instagram once Grin it was amazing and poor DH never heard the end of it

Kingfisherfree · 17/12/2015 00:02

She is lovely sorry. I am in awe of her a bit. She is beautiful, interesting and has a super mind - what's not to like? I haven't seen her new series yet.
