I have a bit of a crush on Noel. Blush

How did the dog fracture it's leg? I missed the start.

Love supervet but why would anyone give a horrible little dog like that house room?

Sparklingbrook · 16/12/2015 20:39

Presumably because they like the dog?

Horrible dog is probably fine with them.

I used to have a dog which loved me and dd and savaged everyone else on sight inc Dh

Palomb · 16/12/2015 20:41

It didn't even seem to recognise its owner 😳

Sparklingbrook · 16/12/2015 20:42

We used to have a cat that was all cuddly and placid. Get her into the vets and she was wild. She had a warning on her notes and everything.

Same here with my old girl cat Sparkling Grin. The vet used to say 'Oh Its You'. We had our cards marked!

WhoTheFuckIsSimon · 16/12/2015 20:47

Teddy dog is lovely.

Dogs do seem to bounce back from major surgery well.

HemanOrSheRa · 16/12/2015 20:50

I love Noel and I love Ted Grin. Don't tell DP and my little pup pup who is curled up next to me.

Sparklingbrook · 16/12/2015 20:52

YY Heman. He used to get the vet nurses in with gauntlets on. It was really bizarre because at home she was soft and gentle and loved everyone.

I am really not a dog person but they do give their owners a good welcome when they turn up to pick them up don't they?

Chihuahuas have a reputation for being grumpy.

My old dog it took four people at the vets to give him his kennel cough. The vets were terrified of him.

WhoTheFuckIsSimon · 16/12/2015 20:58

I wonder how much Ted's op cost?

They don't often mention money. I remember one dog who needed spinal surgery and Noel told his owner it would be 5k.

HemanOrSheRa · 16/12/2015 20:58

Lordy. I love Ted and his Mum and Dad.

Sparklingbrook · 16/12/2015 20:59

They hardly ever mention money do they? I just assume £££££s, but how far the pet insurance stretches i bet it depends on the small print.

I was never a dog person either Sparkling. Cats, Cats, Cats all the way for me. But I do love animals and have vague ponderings of working with them but I don't think I couldn't handle it. I So I'll stick with with working with people. Then I met DP who loves dogs. So we got our gorgeous JRT girl and I'll tell you what I get a merry greeting every day. It's impossible to be sad for long with a pup in the house.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 16/12/2015 21:12

Spud the dog made me cry, and so did the little girl and her cat - I was a wet mess!

WhoTheFuckIsSimon · 16/12/2015 21:14

Lots of people don't have insurance.

Ted didn't because they'd only just got him and I guess it was a pre existing condition.

Girl with the 5k spinal surgery dog had no insurance and used her wedding fund. Said she would rather have a dog than a wedding.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 16/12/2015 23:57

One of our dogs has had three knee surgeries this year - two for ruptured anterior cruciate ligaments and one for a dislocated knee cap. In addition she has had admissions for fluid collecting in the wound, and for a gastric ulcer (from the anti-inflammatories she was in for the dislocation). With the x-rays and the follow-ups she has had to have, her vets bills this year are in the region of £10k.

Thankfully we have pet plan insurance - mind you, I think we are off their Christmas card list, though!

WhoTheFuckIsSimon · 17/12/2015 07:13

I need to look at the small print of our policy, got a feeling it's got a cap per condition per year of something like 7k.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 17/12/2015 11:27

Probably, yes, Who. Our dog is on the highest level with PetPlan, and I think her maximum limit for the year is around the £10K mark. As it happens, the first operation, whilst within this calendar year, was in the previous insurance year for her policy, so we still have a bit of headroom, before she goes over her limit.

We are not looking forward to her renewal next year - I think her premium may go up a bit! But it is well worth it, and she is definitely worth it.

Watching tonights (I don't usually but I found it on TV Guide)

The cat Pixie.
I kind of think "just because it can be done doesn't mean it should be done"

Watching to see the outcome.
