Will this do?

OP posts:
Roussette · 16/12/2015 22:03

I don't understand... they could be sat in different places come the Final?!

sadwidow28 · 16/12/2015 22:03

I am watching "You're Fired" - don't like it Jack Dee, but probably worth a watch this week.

SheHasAWildHeart · 16/12/2015 22:04

Charleine on You're Fired 😍

penguinsarecool · 16/12/2015 22:04

Charlene is looking gorgeous.

SheHasAWildHeart · 16/12/2015 22:05

Lord Sugar films two alternate endings. That finger pointing is meaningless.

sadwidow28 · 16/12/2015 22:05

Charlene missed a trick - when she was told that she wasn't known outside of Plymouth, her answer should have been, "I will be after The Apprentice airs"

sadwidow28 · 16/12/2015 22:13

Oh No .... the stupid audience thought Charlene should be fired.

BYOSnowman · 17/12/2015 08:53

Vanas business is the only one that has the potential for big success relatively quickly. Also biggest likelihood of crashing and burning. Joseph's business is a steady Eddie type with a slow burn

I wonder what the bookings are like at Charlene's salon these days!

She and dicky hated each other but ended being quite fond of each other it seems. I think he's probably ok but tries to hide behind confidence - I bet he is full of self doubt underneath it all

var123 · 17/12/2015 09:01

Nailed it!

var123 Wed 16-Dec-15 09:27:22
So you think anyone but Vana? I think its either Vana or Joseph. Vana as a sort of vanity project for Lord Sugar and Joseph because he probably reminds Lord Sugar of himself.

Either Gary's idea was badly explained in the editing, or it was terrible. God help us if parties of the future involve standing around a TV screen telling the person on the other side what a great time you are having.

var123 · 17/12/2015 09:02

I liked Richard when he finally stopped game playing and spoke honestly.

Roussette · 17/12/2015 09:11

And Richard did suffer a health scare just before filming started which he kept from the production team, he had two mini strokes. If only he had been like the end at the beginning, I think once her got on to "You're Fired" he'd become far less of a twat.

howtorebuild · 17/12/2015 09:29

I am sorry he had strokes.I think the population has been saved from a psychopath as a result.

var123 · 17/12/2015 09:36

Vana - high risk and high return
Joseph - low risk and low return

If things don't go well, Vana will first try to raise more funding and then use her connections and other businesses to parachute herself out, whereas Joseph will have lost everything.

I'd go with Joseph if I were Lord Sugar, but then I'm not Lord Sugar...!

eddiemairswife · 17/12/2015 09:40

I would like Joseph to win. He seems to be the only one who has been completely honest and not tried to blind everyone else with jargon and waffle. He also is open to accept advice and make adjustments when needed. I also thought it was great that he was able to answer the questions about Lord Sugar's book, showing that he had read it.

var123 · 17/12/2015 09:44

I liked the book part too.... and I was very impressed with how he shaved off that moustache. He'd grown it and kept it, so he obviously liked it, but then he got a couple of comments about it and that was enough to convince him to change it. It shows he's not arrogant (unlike most other contestants) and he's ready and willing to learn.

Roussette · 17/12/2015 10:00

And really... going from being expelled at school to setting up your own business is impressive on Josef's part.

It all depends on what Sralan wants from his 'investment'. We never really get to hear what happens to these businesses although I did buy one of Tom's curved nail files in TK Maxx the other week (he won a few years ago, nice chap, scientiest inventor type).

var123 · 17/12/2015 10:07

Alan Sugar wants a success because he doesn't like failure on a personal level and a return on the business, what he doesn't need is the money he'll earn from the new business. His net worth is estimated at £1.4 billion. £250k is 0.018% of that.

I'm not saying he'd be happy to lose it, but the next investment will be a very small % of his portfolio, so he can make it ultra high risk, ultra low risk and anything in between.

BYOSnowman · 17/12/2015 10:12

£250k is worth it to him just for the publicity he gets for doing the show

var123 · 17/12/2015 10:21

You think he enjoys the publicity and is willing to pay for it? I guess he must otherwise why would he do it?

Duncan Bannatyne is the same. He gave his I'm a Celeb fee to charity. The only reason he did the show was to enjoy the fame.

Weird... some people obviously want to be famous for its own sake. I'd rather be rich and anonymous!

BYOSnowman · 17/12/2015 10:43

The publicity for sugar is also about branding too though. Same as Branson really. I should imagine giving them £250k is better than having to employ someone! He has a book about the show and also his autobiography would not have sold so well without the profile the show gives him

Whereas bannatyne seems in the midst of a mid life crisis!

var123 · 17/12/2015 10:52

Whereas bannatyne seems in the midst of a mid life crisis!

Its a bit late for that - he's 66.

Alan Sugar is 68. Surely retirement must be on the horizon?

lorelei9 · 17/12/2015 11:27

var - Alan Sugar is the type who will work till his 80s or till death.

I was out last night. Did Joseph show any signs of being worthy of being in the final?!

Shirkingfromhome · 17/12/2015 11:37

I thought so Lorelei9 he was honest and his idea was the most transparent of them all. He was open to suggestions to amend his business plan and seemed to interview really well. He was the only one who didn't have any really awful interview moments.

It will be interesting to see how well he copes presenting next week to a huge room of business execs. If he can hold it together I think he'll win it.

PopcornFrenzy · 17/12/2015 11:40

I thought Joseph interviewed very well unlike Richard who had strips torn off him at every angle, Joseph was upfront and honest and I must admit he looks fab without his silly car salesman tash Grin

Roussette · 17/12/2015 11:54

I thought Joseph (or is it Josef?) came across well and I warmed to him. There was a refreshing innocence to him, in that he was prepared to admit his failings and knew he wasn't the strongest candidate but when he said how hard he would work, I sorta believed him.
