I think that would make me do a double take too ilove

Ilovelblue · 27/10/2015 16:51

Could I imagine myself as Mrs Aldridge? Yes, I could, but it would be as his mother I think not his wife, given the difference in our ages!

Ilovelblue · 27/10/2015 16:52

One of my colleagues has just mentioned about the Milk Tray advert and wondered why I started to laugh.

MaddieMoo82 · 27/10/2015 16:55

Ooh having been on much due to my nearly 6mth old non sleeping son. Not sure how something so small and cute can actually break you but he's nearly managed Sad
Oh anyway loving all the foxy talk. Haven't watched last nights episode yet, think I'll wait till I'm less hormonal/emotional or I'll probably end up kicking the tv when foxy appears.

MaddieMoo82 · 27/10/2015 16:57

kelly that pic is fab. Look at his pecs/moobs strokes the screen

KellyHb · 27/10/2015 17:01

Oh poor mads hope your DS starts to sleep a bit more.
Having my 3 all day is getting on my nerves but its for the potty greater good so I'm just having to get on with it. Confused

Foxy is gorgeous. You can see his nipples GrinGrin

MaddieMoo82 · 27/10/2015 17:07

Thanks kelly. Hes currently laughing at me making dog noises so least he appreciates my insanity.
Fingers crossed your week sorting out the boys plumbing is worth it.
I reckon foxy picked out that top especially for its nipple showing not that I'm complaining Halloween Grin

Onlygirljen · 27/10/2015 17:11

Oh mads, you have my biggest sympathies. My eldest didn't sleep until he turned 1, which I thought was bad enough, until youngest was born and showed me just how bad it could be! We're only just cracking it with his sleep now and he's just turned 3 Confused

You must be absolutely done in. Take as many naps as you possibly can, and accept as many offers of nighttime babysitting / help as you can get. Just keep the faith that it will get better eventually, it just doesn't feel like it at the time! You will hopefully notice an improvement when he gets started on solids. Big hugs, I remember the despair well!!

MaddieMoo82 · 27/10/2015 17:25

Ah thanks jen I really appreciate it! Sounds like you've had it rough Sad
It was getting better but then has got steadily worse but as I kept telling myself he's only little so give it time. It didn't help that a 'friend' text this morning to say her baby who is 2mths younger than DS was sleeping through. I wanted to stick things her eyes for a bit but kellys foxy pic and woofs talk of shenanigans in Wales have made me laugh Grin

Richtea19 · 27/10/2015 17:35

mads hope you get a better night tonight.

I went to see my nieces baby yesterday, so adorable. Although she doesn't sleep either! Little pickle.

orphan we also have a family trips to James Bond tonight as well. Voucher for Pizza Express so a meal first. We know how to live!!! I would love to see Tom Hardy as Bond. He has the right element of looks and body. Grin

Dizzydots · 27/10/2015 18:10

Foxy for Bond, or Milktray Man at least if we can't have CJ, still sulking big time at the waste

pixieg1rl · 27/10/2015 18:28

Mads, don't talk about sleep with friends who have sleepers; there's a specific sort of distress and envy that comes when you're sleep deprived and someone says 'oh, mine slept through from x'. I swear I nearly killed someone who told me their child slept through 12 hours from 6 weeks (then I worried that their child might be starving). My son didn't sleep through until about 2.5, and even now I'm usually up once a night to put him on a potty (hint, don't buy a cabin bed), although it's a 2 minute job so I don't count that.

Take whatever help you can, if he doesn't need a feed then do get MrMads to put him down some nights, nap in the day when he sleeps, do just as much housework as you need to keep the place acceptable for you. Babies are never constant, they will change their patterns as they hit each milestone. I found baby stuff extremely difficult and ended up with PND when DS was about 5 months and sleep deprivation was a big part of this because I didn't do any of the stuff I've mentioned.

MrP really wants to see Bond. I couldn't care less. I've told him to go on his own, but if any of you need an escort I'll send him over.

richtea there should be a version of 3d specs that allows you to superimpose Tom Hardy over Daniel Craig when you're watching. It'll be odd going as a family cos it's not often a film appeals to both 19 yr old ds and 14 yr old dd.

As for Foxy, I wouldn't mind him securing my tent flaps whilst on manoeuvres but he's not a patch on BA, Matthias etc

Nickel45 · 27/10/2015 18:35

mads big hugs. My two didn't sleep either. It honestly does get better, or you get more used to it, one or the other! I also had some very unhelpful friends who used to say theirs slept through the night .... But what they meant was that they slept from their night feed at 11 till 5 in the morning .... not what I would call sleeping through!!! Having tried every method going yep, honestly! with littlie I remember my first night of controlled crying she cried for five hours .... till I gave up ... she's still as stubborn! they will do it when they are ready and it's not worth stressing over. I know, easy to say, and I would have lamped anyone saying that to me just as well I'm on the other end of the computer! honestly, it WILL get better, just kip when you can, take any offers of help, and do whatever makes is easiest for you WineBrewCake ... Oh, and ignore all those people who say theirs slept through..... Not helpful when yours isn't, and they will undoubtedly have some other thing that their child won't do which yours will do brilliantly. Lots of hugs xxx

Onlygirljen · 27/10/2015 19:02

Ah yes, those wonderful babies that never cry, and sleep through the night from 6 weeks old. I didn't actually believe they existed until one of my best friends gave birth to one of them and I saw the evidence. As soon as you have a chronically bad sleeper, the first thing people tend to tell you is about x baby who is wonderful and sleeps 7 till 7. It's the same as the really helpful people who have recently been telling me about their child who was dry and completely potty trained at 18 months. I just nod, smile, and think how lucky they are to be such wonderful parents HmmHmmHmm

I did the same thing as pixie mentioned with my eldest and didn't take the help. That, combined with the fact that I wasn't long out of my teens and had very little ability to cope with all of the changes in my life resulted in really bad PND. Always take any help when it's offered, you need it for your own sanity!

cjwoofwoof · 27/10/2015 19:13

Ooh mads does your friend's baby shit gold bars too?

Bah! The world is full of "friends" like that. Just remember your baby will sleep well eventually, but hers will always be butt ugly. Ignore them all - it won't be long before you won't get him out of bed til midday, believe me Wine Flowers

Foxy for Milk Tray Man - tick, tick, tick
Martin Clunes/King George V, I mean Tom Hardy for James Bond - get out of town, no, no and thrice NO

MaddieMoo82 · 27/10/2015 19:35

Ah I really appreciate all your words of wisdom thanks Flowers. I also appreciate your honesty as well. When I was pregnant a lot of my colleagues and friends sugar coated babies and therefore I have found it really difficult to talk to them after hearing how amazing it was/is for then and how rewarding etc when I felt at 6 weeks after birth leaving DS on his own and walking out.
I know at some point it will get better I think I just hit a wall over the last couple of days, guess it was gonna happen at some point. MrMoo is unfortunately a bit rubbish but I think that is partly my fault for not accepting help and trying to be some sort of earth mother, when in truth the house is barely tidy, i haven't had a shower for a couple of days and have survived on a diet on toast and shortbread for lunch most days since he was born.... Unless DP is home or parents are around.
The baby of the friend who is sleeping through also does not cry like ever. Unlike DS who cried at nearly everything for the first 3 Months. To be honest I'm not sure her baby is real! Wink

cjwoofwoof · 27/10/2015 19:51

Yes as I suspected mads - perfect but uuuuuuugly Grin

cjwoofwoof · 27/10/2015 19:55

Throw in a few packs of prawn cocktail crisps with the toast and bikkies mads and that's my normal breakfast, lunch and dinner right there

Onlygirljen · 27/10/2015 19:58

mads, in the absence of being able to give you a huge real life hug, which I really want to do right now, please instead have a picture of CJ looking stern and telling you with his most authoritative voice not to fucking bother with the housework right now. Just focus on you and the little one.

And don't worry about that 6 week moment, I always think that anyone who's never been tempted to flee out of their door from their screaming baby is to be regarded with high levels of suspicion..just wait until the first time he comes and grabs you for a cuddle or tells you he loves you, and I promise these early days will all become worth it, even the worst ones. X

cjwoofwoof · 27/10/2015 19:59

Think you might gonna need a trip to Wales under Foxy's very big tent, mads - a whole different ball bag of sleep deprivation but far more enjoyable Grin

pixieg1rl · 27/10/2015 20:06

I used to get MrP to make me a sandwich and leave it in the fridge for me sometimes. And live off biscuits

MrP was a bit crap when it came to night waking, he used the breastfeeding as an excuse not to do it, and I let him get away with it. If I had my time over it would be one of the things I would change. If you can feed him and settle DS then great, but if after the feed he doesn't settle do get someone else to try. You may need ear plugs to block out the sound but you need to sleep and MrM needs to know how to settle the baby.

Aw ladies, how lovely is the support on here. Star

Big big hugs mads.Flowers I just want to ditto things other ladies have said, things really do get better even when they're at their very worst. When our twins were so desperately ill when they were born, and DD being extremely ill last year and I didn't know how I could carry on (we have no help at all) but literally somehow you do.

KellyHb · 27/10/2015 20:23

Actually mads here's a couple of pics I meant to post the other day of another gorgeous Captain in the British Army. He's called Johnny Mercer. He's an MP now though. Yummy. (He's in the middle of the 3 men.)
