Well I know there are cos lots of you love R4!

God they were on form today! Humph's description of Samantha's boyfriend '..if she butters him up enough she can get him to splash out.' Pure poetry.

Now this is ... but much as I love Mornington Crescent - I can't for the life of me work out the rules! Are there any or is that part of it??!

"He's 85 you know!!!"

He delivers the lines with such innocence, doesn't he?

I liked curlicue too - once it was explained

Nope, no rules for M Cres - pure silliness.

hunkermunker · 26/11/2006 13:07

Jan

I thought you of all people would know the rules!

JanH · 26/11/2006 13:09
Hmm
TinyGang · 26/11/2006 13:09

Hunker spill that secret!

I love Humph and the fact that you never ever hear from Samantha.

They we're going so fast today I could barely keep up.

(She's invisible, TG )

yes it was great today, makes getting sunday lunch so much more pleasurable, esp with a glass of wine in hand too...I'm sure Dh wonders why I need to spend quite so long in the kitchen on a sunday

ediemay · 26/11/2006 13:57

Love it. Love all of the giggling and adore the "latecomers announcements" and "swannee kazoo"
Cricket, Archers and this = bliss for me and DP

I love it, I've always been a Graeme Garden fan since he was my favourite Goodie as a kid, then my Uncle introduced me to Sorry I Haven't a Clue.

I once had to pull over to the side of the road because I was laughing so much I couldn't see about "one song to the tune of another"...
It's fabulous

JanH · 26/11/2006 23:26

And nobody on ISIHAC sings as beautifully as Jeremy

SoMuchToBits · 26/11/2006 23:29

One Christmas I gave dh a Swannee whistle and a kazoo, just so we could join in LOL

TinyGang, I think there was a programme once about the rules of Mornington Crescent. (There aren't any really - that is the point ) And yes, I'm a fan too.

ilovecaboose · 27/11/2006 10:16

Apparently there are rules to Mornington Crescent.

The story goes that they thought it would be funny to have a game where the audience didn't know what the rules were. SO they never told them. Whether they still use them, nobody knows.

DO you know there are forums where you can play Mornington Crescent?

Also old episodes are repeated on BBC7 (you can hear them on listen again).

Humph is so old now I worry something will happen to him
Do you know he's a professional trumpet player?

I love Clue. Its fantastic. Much better than that just a minute

lemonaid · 27/11/2006 10:22

Have the CDs and listen a lot in the car.

Best one song to the tune of another yet IMO was Willie Rushton doing "A Whiter Shade Of Pale" to the tune of "My Old Man's A Dustman". Sheer genius...

Hallgerda · 27/11/2006 11:00

ilovecaboose, I think he's related to a Gunpowder Plotter of the same name.

JanH · 27/11/2006 11:03

He went to Eton. V posh (as if you couldn't tell from his voice )
