Older than Andy, younger than Fed. But I'm also furrin.

Raahh · 10/07/2015 17:14

MrsVamos · 10/07/2015 17:16

I was 4 in 1987.

GrouchyKiwi · 10/07/2015 17:17

We didn't have ceefax in NZ. Probably. Depending on what it was.

purpleprincess · 10/07/2015 17:18

You are children the lot of you flounces off in old lady strop Envy

Raahh · 10/07/2015 17:18

MrsVI think being furrin explains not knowing what ceefax was.

it was a very odd thing, Ceefax. And Teletext- that had a 'soap opera'Grin

diddl · 10/07/2015 17:18

9, 16 I was 23!!

GrouchyKiwi · 10/07/2015 17:18

Oooh, we did have it, but we just called it teletext because prosaic.

KatieScarlettreregged · 10/07/2015 17:19

KatieScarlettreregged · 10/07/2015 17:19

I was 18 in 1987.

MrsVamos · 10/07/2015 17:20

Ceefax was the news/information service on tv. Via teletext. You could either watch tv, or read news, or various other info.

Anyone remember Bamboozle ? Grin

OP posts:
Raahh · 10/07/2015 17:20

Ceefax was pages of text, news, sport, selling holidays, etc, that used to be on when there was a break in programmes. It is hard to explain. Grin

purpleprincess · 10/07/2015 17:21

Yay Diddi and katie. I was 20! Remember seeing Virginia Wade win in 1977. Also remember cutting out newspaper articles about Wimbledon for my diary type thing in @1981....

GrouchyKiwi · 10/07/2015 17:22
Grin
MrsPear · 10/07/2015 17:22

Anyone remember the weird pictures up in the morning?

What do we reckon straight sets to fed?

MrsVamos · 10/07/2015 17:23

I was 11 in 1987.

I was teasing about being furrin.

I always forget your kiwi bit, Grouchy. It always makes me think if the fruit, not the country. Blush

I expect if I looked back we discuss it every year.

That's what happens as you get older. You forget things. A lot. Grin

OP posts:
Raahh · 10/07/2015 17:24

Bamboozle was great- and waiting ages when you missed the 'page' you wanted and had to wait for ages for it to come round.

purpleprincess · 10/07/2015 17:25

What is furrin??

Iirc mats wilander was quite cute in his day....never really liked pistol Pete as a player. Think stopped watching for a while. Rafa brought me back to tennis!

MrsVamos · 10/07/2015 17:26

I reckon it might go to 4, MrsPear.

CremeEggThief · 10/07/2015 17:27

I used to love reading the news and weather on ceefax. It's a bit weird, but I found it sunk in more than the nightly bulletins.
Purple, I made a Wimbledon diary too, for 1991. It's one of the very few things I regret not keeping, in my enthusiasm for decluttering.
