OITNB end of series 3

How can they end it like that ARG!

Right, now that is out of my system, what does everyone think?

I think Bennett disappeared to distance himself from Daya and the prison knowing that the baby would end up with Cesar then tipped off the DEA so that he can somehow get custody/guardianship of the baby without admitting he is the father. Or at least I hope that is what has happened, I was feeling way too worried about the baby so had to convince myself.

I was pleased to see the start of the friendship between Poussey and Soso. Poussey is such a brilliant character and Soso has been annoying and pathetic for far too long.

Lauren needs her comeuppance though, even with the back story I couldn't empathise with her.

I have enjoyed Pennsatucky's story this series, well, not enjoyed as I felt awful for her but seeing a bit of her back story and her development made her much more likeable. I think Boo taking her under her wing was great.

There were so many other brilliant storylines this series, I think it trumped series 2 easily. I like Piper being less wet too, although I'm sure she's got something coming to her.

So what do you all think? What happened to Alex? How on earth are the new rubbish guards going to get everyone back in? Will Caputo really sell out completely?

I think Piper's story arc is very interesting. When she first arrived in S1 she was a bit self centred, but still kind and a bit naive. By S3, prison has really changed her. She's out for what she can get, she lies, she doesn't give a shit about her appearance and she's much harder. I find it really interesting. By contrast, Alex is much warmer and more likeable and you can understand how much Piper hurt her in the past now.

I think it would have been more interesting if she'd stayed with Larry, to see her try to adjust to life with him again on the outside.

Piper may have left Alex when she needed her but Alex recruited her into smuggling heroin, she's hardly Mary Poppins. I must say I don't really understand the attraction between the two of them - I guess Piper is exploring her 'bad' side with her, which is why it doesn't make sense as Alex becomes less of a bad influence.

Yes I see your point tribpot, but on the other hand, the more vulnerable and needy Alex is, the less Piper wants her.

tribpot what was Maria's backstory?

Cheesymonster · 10/07/2015 19:29

I'm now following the actor who plays Bennett on Instagram and am developing a bit of a crush

tribpot · 10/07/2015 19:36

This was in season 2, Cheesy. She was a bank robber whose boyfriends all ended up dead. They were all fabulous in a 70s way, she was gorgeous and tempestuous and ultimately got caught because she insisted on pulling off another job after boyfriend number 2 (or possibly 3) got killed.

MissBattleaxe · 10/07/2015 20:08

Yes it was Rosa.

tribpot · 10/07/2015 20:26

Oh DOH yes of course - sorry!

mayaknew · 10/07/2015 20:33

What was Maria's backstory ?

tribpot · 10/07/2015 20:58

I don't think we know yet - OITNB Wiki.

Cheesymonster · 10/07/2015 21:36

Loved Rosa, "so rude, that one".

mayaknew · 10/07/2015 21:51

Me too cheesy ! Was delighted when she popped up in the caputo flashback episode !

Actually now I think on it I did like one other storyline I liked how much of caputo we seen and all his flashbacks . I really warmed to him .

tribpot · 10/07/2015 22:19

Rosa was awesome. If they ever want to do OITNB: The Early Years she will be brilliant.
