Hi ladies

Thanks for the thread Mrs V....I've just watched the perfect warm up on bbc Iplayer. Wimbledon 2014 review which was on BBC2 earlier. Got some great interviews (inc with Boris and Stefan at the beginning) and footage from last year.

Btw I have to tell you all the I'm soooo excited this year as I have tickets!!! I was very lucky to get tickets for CC on Saturday and then even luckier to find they are in the third row...yes the third row!!! Hoping to see Rafa (if he's still in) as we will see players in bottom half of men's draw....will keep you posted and put up some photos is possible.

ooh Envy purple- Have a brilliant time!

magimedi · 28/06/2015 20:10

Purple Envy

Virginia makes me want to throw a brick at the TV.

Silly cunt.

HenriettaTurkey · 28/06/2015 20:13

Not a fan of Virginia here either, even though I was born in 'her year'. And I did like Genie and her focus, until she was so unspeakably rude to her opponent in the Fed Cup and refused to shake hands before the game.

I think she needs to grow up a little.

Re: shocks, I'd love Hewitt to put out Nole in round 2. It's his swan song after all...

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 28/06/2015 20:23

Envy I always get row ZZZZZ, it doesn't make for good photos. Have you been before?

Raahh · 28/06/2015 20:40

I had a photo taken next to the Fred Perry statue, when I went.

It is much smaller than it looks on the tvGrin.

MrsVamos · 28/06/2015 20:45

Hi purple Smile

Wow ! All the more reason for lots of VAMOS ! this Wimby !

I didn't say I liked Virginia, I said Tracy makes her tolerable.

Now that's saying something. Not sure what. Grin

Have you all seen in the meeja the 'cheating furore' about Jokovic ?

Bit of a nonsense really, as in his defence, he's right, they all get up to it.

Just seems he does it more than most, and gets noticed, and fined. Poor lamb.

Must be a bit like his and Serena's sudden 'illnesses' that suddenly come on. Hmm

Just effing play tennis, ffs. You've all been doing it long enough.

OP posts:
Morgan · 28/06/2015 20:51

Please can I join in ?? No tickets this year in the ballot and managed to miss the ballot at the gym - never mind . Also ridiculously bad planning as I'm off on hols on Friday as had forgotten about date change but will be in northern Spain so if Nadal is doing well should be ok .

Go Andy !!! ( although don't enjoy watching him play - too stressful and too much shouting at the tv )

MrsVamos · 28/06/2015 20:52

purple

You MUST wear something so we'll be able to see you !

Then I can yell at the tv "there's an mn-er and fellow tennis nut - I know her" !

PLEASE !

And not something daft like the MN scarf. Something REALLY noticeable.

OP posts:
MrsVamos · 28/06/2015 20:53

Welcome, Morgan Smile

The more the merrier !

Is it nearly bed time ? Grin

I've read about the cheating thing. Surely if you spend hours with your coach you'll be able to learn some non verbal communication?
It's not as if he's whispering in his ear Wink

MrsVamos · 28/06/2015 21:17

Yy, cath.

Do they think we're that daft that we don't know it goes on anyway ?

It annoyed me that some of Novak's team openly admitted they shout in Serbian so that an umpire wouldn't necessarily know it was 'encouragement' or instruction.

Then I think of other players and think "well, duh. Of course you wouldn't shout so that everyone watching recognises what you're saying".

I think Novak's pissed off because he's been singled out. But as I said, perhaps he and his team shouldn't make such a habit of it. Or need to be more covert so they don't get caught. Grin

What's going to be next ? No crowd cheering ? Hmm

OP posts:
purpleprincess · 28/06/2015 21:19

Thanks all....rafaistheking I also got lucky and got tickets in 2013 on No 1 court and saw really good match between Ferrer and Bustagut (who had never heard of at the time) also get to see lots of players wandering about which is great for tennis nerd like me. Saw Marion Bartolli being escorted to a match and no one was interested at all and it was the year she won! Saw the lovely Tomas Berdych signing autographs too,

So what shall I wear? Am thinking of getting a pseudo Fed staff member t shirt but not sure you would see that either. They're quite strict so can't take big flags in or anything....

MrsVamos · 28/06/2015 21:25

Maybe a red fed tee and wear red shorts ? Then stand up and wave madly in breaks ?!

A huge big floppy hat ? Have you got a mahoosive sombrero, perhaps ? Grin

No style, me.

OP posts:
MrsVamos · 28/06/2015 21:26

You'll have to tell us which side you're on too, so we can see you on the tv. Smile

OP posts:
MrsVamos · 28/06/2015 21:27

You could go all in purple ? Then make a sign to hold saying 'pp here !'

We could have a little 'first to spot pp' competition going on.

OP posts:
purpleprincess · 28/06/2015 21:34

Thanks for all your err interesting suggestions...as if I would wear a
Federal t-shirt really!! Depends on weather of course but they're quite strict so think big floppy hats are out as well as jumping up and down between games.

FYI we are gangway 101 on the plan near the royal box end and one of the service lines.

Morgan · 28/06/2015 21:35

Thanks Mrs V - that's weird as I'm a Mrs V in real life .

purpleprincess · 28/06/2015 21:35

Whoops Federer! Like the idea of the competition though...

MrsVamos · 28/06/2015 21:42

Ah well if you're not up for dressing to be seen you'll have to make a sign for us to see then, purple.

'Interesting suggestions' indeed. Don't you want to be noticed ? Grin

As for no jumping up, no not between games but jumping & cheering between sets - oh yes !

If it was me going I'd plan to shout out to you all...something like "VAMOS RAFA, HIYA LADIES ITS ME MRSV !"

And wave like a loon.

I'd possibly be at risk of being escorted out. Blush

More sensible suggestion. Umbrella in case its really sunny ? Just to put up so we can spot you ? You tell us the colour and we have our comp ?

Morgan

That is a bit weird.

My surname is unusual, but used as a word occasionally. If I see it I have a little panic until I read the post and realise its not about me or my family !

OP posts:
MrsVamos · 28/06/2015 21:44

I was wondering for a brief moment what a federal t shirt is. Grin

Are Fed fans called Federals ?

OP posts:
Mama1980 · 28/06/2015 21:47

Are you allowed to wear all purple purple? Grin Don't think we'd miss you then Wink
Some good matches tomorrow fingers firmly crossed that everything here is returning to normal (whatever that is!) and i can watch some tennis. The Djokovic match could be interesting.

MrsVamos · 28/06/2015 21:53

Hiya Mama Smile

If you miss anything I'm sure there'll be a running commentary here. Grin
