leprechaun- I'm sure there will be some drama with Serena. There usually is. Hmm

InDespair · 28/06/2015 16:36

oh yes, didnt buy serenas ''illness' and miraculous recovery in the FO final AT ALL.

I find Bouchard a diva too.

TOMORROW!

Got the starwbwrries and pimms ready.

and me and DC have a bit of a (saddo) tradition -its like xmas for me, is Wimbly, we have to wear something green or purple every day for the fortnight, be it undies, socks, tshirt, skirt whatever.

agree with Raah the riff raff nobs like Clarkson 1D, becks and many other nobs get in free to their luxury royal box.

MrsVamos · 28/06/2015 16:46

ONE SLEEP !

Soooo excited !

Poor David. Sad Will miss seeing him.

At least we know now whose playing when. Already know I'm going shopping early Friday so I miss nothing !

I've got the easy food in for this week, including ice pops and lollies. Blush

Couldn't believe it when I saw who Konta's got, Raahh. Angry

Will be crossing everything for her.

trixy

I believe you could try to get tix through Ticketmaster. www.ticketmaster.co.uk

Might be worth a try ?

I'm 40 next year too. Maybe we should try to arrange a birthday day out ? Might involve camping ?!

I've decided that as much as I would love to be on CC, if my beloved Rafa is there next year, and my life is any better, I might just try for a ground ticket. I'd be happy enough to soak up the atmosphere and sit on Henman Hill.

Even if I have to go on my own.

YonicScrewdriver · 28/06/2015 16:55

Did y'all know there is a Wimbeldon topic??

YonicScrewdriver · 28/06/2015 16:56

It's very quiet...

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/wimbledon

Raahh · 28/06/2015 17:01

yonic- it's been there a couple of years, I think- but since we've always been here and are lazy and Telly addicts is a lot busier than the sporting topics, we decided to stay put. And we witter all year round, really.

My motto - Tennis is for life, not just Wimbledon Grin.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 28/06/2015 17:02

Just spotted that.

How long's it been there? Did we ask for it?

Perhaps we should invite the poster over here.

YonicScrewdriver · 28/06/2015 17:05

Fair enough!

I am looking forward to Djokovic tomorrow.

Raahh · 28/06/2015 17:11

I have washed my tatty 1990 Wimbledon towel. Grin I didn't go that year, I went in '94 (21 years tomorrow!Shock) but my friend (whose dad worked there, which is how I got the ticket) gave me an old one. We bought a bowl of strawberries between us. Grin. It was a lovely hot day.

I saw Lindsey Davenport play Conchita Martinez, in the quarter finals. We had tickets in the CC members box- I saw the back of Cliff Richards' head.

I cannot get my head around the change of dates.Confused.

I have a freezer full of beige easy food.

Grin Tennis
Raahh · 28/06/2015 17:16

Yonic- I'm looking forward to Djok too- Kohlshreiber might not be the easiest first round match he would have wanted.

RafaGrin.

I don't us remember asking for it. Took long enough to get the Tennis.

And even then they took them away for a bit! Grin

YonicScrewdriver · 28/06/2015 17:18

I am glad that Murray will not play Djokovic until the final (all going to plan)

MrsVamos · 28/06/2015 17:19

There's a Wimby topic ? Since when ?

I think we're too well-bedded in here (like the Wimby lupins Grin) to move, aren't we ?

I want a Wimby towel. With Rafa's smelly sweat on.

OP posts:
MrsVamos · 28/06/2015 17:24

That would be OK, Yonic but Murray and Djokovic wont make the Final this year.

Shame. Grin

I completely share magi's sentiment for Novak tomorrow.

But. If he goes out we will have to listen to 2 weeks worth of how upset he was to lose RG (again) and how he can be stronger.

So. Want him to be the shock of the Slam, but can I bear the endless analysis ? Smile

MrsVamos · 28/06/2015 17:26

Meant to say. PUNKROCKER

Come sit by me, we can forget our shitty times together.

My lovely ladies on this thread will help you/us forget for a fortnight and enjoy the tennis. Smile

OP posts:
Raahh · 28/06/2015 17:27

MrsV- I like to pretend my towel was used by Edberg, in the final.

It was probably a spare for a line judgeGrin

Moving to a different topic would probably mean, that when it gets to 'checking scores online because I don't have Sky/can't work tivo' time, I would lose everyone. Grin.

Although I might be less inclined to post 'Doctors' updates, I suppose. Grin

LeprechaunsAndUnicorns · 28/06/2015 17:27

I'd love Djokovic to go out first round. Can you imagine his face?! Not so smug Grin I'm not his biggest fan.

MrsVamos · 28/06/2015 17:28

Just scrolling through, most of us are here, but where's lovely Juan ?

Is she on holibobs ?

OP posts:
MrsVamos · 28/06/2015 17:32

Leprechauns

You'll fit in fine here. Wink Grin

I might start using the American pronunciation of his name.

Raahh I don't mind the Doctors updates. Saves me watching. Grin I stopped actually, cos its got a bit crap.

OP posts:
magimedi · 28/06/2015 17:32

I'll go & rout out EL Pesky!

I'll be popping in & out - but as I don't have a laptop & my 'puter is not in the same room as TV won't be chatting during matches.

Anyhow, that's far too much like multi tasking for me. And far too strenuous for someone of my advanced years!

MrsVamos · 28/06/2015 17:34

Also, my lovely, Raahh.

I reckon your towel was used by Edberg to rub off excess sweat in some very sweaty places. Grin

WHY did you wash it ? You could of had it screened for DNA !

OP posts:
MrsVamos · 28/06/2015 17:37

magi !

Hello lovely. We can chat late night instead.

Don't believe your nonsense about multi tasking and it being strenuous. I've found it actually helps with the stress of a match. Even if I'm wittering on to myself. Blush

You just like to watch in peace. Which is fine. Grin
